Trying to farm Legendary Runes in Season 7 of Diablo 4 is a lot more work than it used to be in previous Seasons.

The main reason for this is that Blizzard massively reduced the drop chances for Legendary Runes from Torment difficulty Bosses. Farming those bosses was, by far, the most reliable and accessible way to farm Legendary Runes. Now, you’ll be lucky if you get more than 1 drop every 60 fights!

Fear not, though, as there are still ways to get Legendary Runes. Read on and we’ll tell you how to farm them in Season 7!

How to Farm Legendary Runes | Diablo 4: Season 7

Sadly, as of this writing, there’s no good way to farm Legendary Runes directly in Season 7 of Diablo 4. Torment Bosses were the only reliable farmable source for them previously. However, as we mentioned before, the Season 7 update massively lowered the drop rates.

Instead, you want to farm Rare Runes. You can then take these Rare Runes to any Jeweler NPC. Bring them 3 of the same Rare Rune and they’ll craft them into 1 random Rune. This random Rune has a 15% chance of being a Legendary Rune, which isn’t too shabby.

Farming Rare Runes

Now, there are two optimal ways to farm Rare Runes. The first one is to farm Uber Bosses, with Duriel and Andariel being the best choices. Ideally, gather Boss Materials for them and then join parties of other players who are farming the bosses. An efficient party can take these bosses down in no time and they have very high drop chances for Rare Runes.

The second way is to complete runs of the Kurast Undercity. To do this, you’ll first need to farm Tributes of Harmony. The best way to farm those is to go through The Pit, as they’re a fairly common drop there. Using these Tributes of Harmony at the Spirit Brazier in the Undercity will give you increased chances of obtaining Runes when you defeat the boss at the end of the Kurast Undercity.

Which of these two methods is better depends on your preference. But, in summary, you’ll need to use one or both of these methods to farm Rare Runes. Then go to the Jeweler to craft sets of 3 duplicated Rare Runes into 1 random Rune, which has a 15% chance of being a Legendary Rune. That’s the best you can get since there’s no reliable way to farm Legendary Runes themselves in Diablo 4: Season 7!

You might also need to farm Fugitive Heads, one of the new currencies in Season 7. If that’s the case, you should check out our dedicated guide on how to farm Fugitive Heads!
