Death Must Die has a lot of achievements for you to get, and getting them all will require a lot of attempts in this unique bullet heaven game.

They aren’t just for show, either, as most of the achievements will also unlock traits that buff the different playable characters.

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to unlock every single achievement so that you can really claim to be Death’s killer!

All Achievements in Death Must Die

There are 32 achievements to get in Death Must Die, and all of them can be put into one of 6 different categories.

Each one of the 5 playable Heroes has 5 achievements tied to them, which will unlock a buff known as a “Sign” when completed. As such, getting the achievements will also reward you with benefits in-game!

However, if you did the math, 5 achievements per 5 heroes equals 25 achievements. That’s because the remaining 7 are party-wide achievements that don’t unlock anything in gameplay either.

NOTE: The game is in Early Access still, though, so more achievements might be added with updates!

Anyway, without further ado, let’s go over each one of the 32 achievements in this game and how to unlock them!

Avoron

Source: Death Must Die on Steam
  • The Sign of The Hero: Kill 500 Skeletons with Avoron. This should come naturally during your first couple of runs because Skeletons are extremely common.
  • The Sign of The Guardian: Defeat The Baron with Avoron. This is the final boss of the first stage, he appears once the timer hits 20:00.
  • The Sign of The Chosen One: Defeat The Gargoyles with Avoron. They are the first pair of bosses in the first stage, appearing as The Baron’s Left and Right hand. Dodge carefully and they should be easy!
  • The Sign of The Disciple: Defeat The Baron with each character. Pretty straightforward, just clear the first stage with all the characters.
  • The Sign of The Cat: A cat dies 9 times. Don’t worry, no kitty will come to harm! The cat in question is Avoron, so you just need to die 9 times when playing as Avoron to earn this achievement.

Merris

  • The Sign of Fire: Deal 100000 Damage with Merris. It’s very self-explanatory, just keep playing as Merris until you reach the goal!
  • The Sign of The Helper: Defeat the chatty skeleton 33 times with Merris. The “chatty skeletons” are the Skeleton Archers, which are most frequently found right before The Baron appears.
  • The Sign of Timespace: Defeat The Necromancer with Merris. This boss appears once the timer hits 14:00 in the first stage.
  • The Sign of The Hydra: Get 8 different Autocast Blessings with Merris. Make sure to pick Time as one of your Gods and get Alteration Ritual and Deadlock to make this easier.
  • The Sign of The Summoner: Get 40 summons with Merris. Pick Death as one of your Gods, then level Necromancy and Ravens to the max.

Nixi

  • The Sign of The Viper: Defeat The Gargoyles under 20 Seconds with Nixi. Focus on boosting your damage as much as possible before they appear, Necromancy and Ball Lightning really help here.
  • The Sign of The Thread: Deal a total of 2000 Critical Damage with Nixi. This should come naturally, but you can speed it up by getting Critical Strike boons from the Fate God.
  • The Sign of The Grasshopper: Get 4 Dashes with Nixi. You can get extra dashes by getting Fleet-Footed from Fate, equipping boots with +1 Dash, and the Shrine of the Rabbit.
  • The Sign of The Thief: Win an attempt at 3 Difficulty with Nixi. You can use any difficulty settings you want for this as long as they total 3 Difficulty Skulls.
  • The Sign of The Rabbit: Win an attempt with Mort’s Serendipity blessing with Nixi. Pick Mort as one of your Gods and get her Serendipity boon, then beat any stage.

Kront

  • The Sign of The Tornado: Kill 25 enemies with a single strike with Kront. Any enemy type will do, so you should be able to get this when you have good gear and boons.
  • The Sign of The Earthquake: Destroy an elite enemy’s barrier with a single strike with Kront. The War Pact boon from Krom should be extremely helpful for this.
  • The Sign of The Tsunami: Deal a critical of 400 damage with Kront. Focus on boosting your Attack and Crit and this should come naturally.
  • The Sign of The Meteor: Defeat 50 Shielders with Kront. Just defeat 50 enemies that have shields and you’ll get this, so it should come naturally.
  • The Sign of The Mountain: Defeat The Necromancer with Kront. As said before, this boss appears when the timer hits 14:00 in the first stage. Beat him up to get the achievement!

Skadi

  • The Sign of The Wyvern: Traverse 30000 distance with Skadi. It’s unclear what metrics the game uses for this, but you really just have to keep moving to unlock the achievement.
  • The Sign of The Apprentice: Level up to 30 with Skadi. Another straightforward achievement that should come to you naturally… as long as you stay alive long enough!
  • The Sign of The Cosmos: Apply 5 different statuses in an attempt with Skadi. You’ll need to move around quickly and activate as many Shrines as you can for this.
  • The Sign of The Beast: Kill 25 Summoners with Skadi. Summoners appear somewhat rarely on the first stage, so this may take a few runs. Stacks with the “The Summoner” achievement, though!
  • The Sign of The Lizard: Heal 999 life with Skadi. Pick Lady Justice as one of your Gods and get her Inner Peace boon to make this easier.

Party-Wide Achievements

Avoron fighting a horde of Skeletons
  • A Thousand Bones: Defeat 6000 Skeletons. They’re the most common enemy in the game, so you just need to keep burying these old bones until you get it.
  • The Summoner: Defeat 50 Summoners. These enemies are rare, with only about 10 per run, so it may take some time to get. Make sure to get Skadi’s “The Sing of the Beast” achievement alongside this one!
  • Jelly: Defeat 4000 Oozes. While Oozes aren’t quite as common as Skeletons, they’re still extremely common. It’s gonna take a while, but just keep beating these slimy monsters up.

  • Obsidian: Win an attempt at 5 Difficulty. See “A Black Heart”.
  • A Black Heart: Win an attempt at 10 Difficulty. Use the Star Crux in the hub and set difficulty modifiers until you have 10 Skulls, then beat the run.
  • A Stake For A Vampire: Defeat the Baron. You will get this once you beat the first stage.
Merris with a fire build
  • Ghost Matter: Win an attempt without taking damage. By far the hardest achievement in the game. It’s best to use Merris with The Sign of Fire or The Sign of The Summoner. Skadi with The Sign of the Apprentice is good, too!
  • Pick Winter, Mort, and Lady Justice as your Gods. Get Blight and Wintertide from Winter, Necromancy and Ravens from Mort, and Divine Shield or Day of Judgment from Lady Justice. These should make things bearable!

Be extremely careful once the big waves at 18:00 and 19:00 spawn, though, as they can quickly damage you and ruin your run. We definitely wish you the best of luck tackling this last one!

Venezuelan gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
