It might be early into Season 10 for New World: Aeternum, but a meta is already developing as players find what might be the best PvE build in the game.

This build, mainly revolving around the powerful Inferno Artifact, can easily decimate PvE content. What’s more, thanks to other Artifacts, it’s also not lacking in survivability either! It’s very powerful while remaining versatile.

Sounds like a fun time to you? Read on for all of the build details.

Weapon Combination – Blunderbuss + Fire Staff

For this build, we will be using the Blunderbuss and Fire Staff combo.

The Blunderbuss is one of the best weapons in the game currently, and the Fire Staff has one of the strongest Artifacts right now. We’ll talk more about that Artifact and how to get it in a moment.

For the most part, this build will focus on using the Blunderbuss. The Fire Staff is mainly used for the Inferno Artifact, which provides a buff to your Blunderbuss damage.

With that in mind, your stat spread for maximum Blunderbuss damage should be as follows by Level 70:

  • STR – 500
  • DEX – 5
  • INT – 20
  • FOC – 5
  • CON – 5

Essentially, you’ll want to focus everything on Strength besides bumping Intelligence up to 20. It’s a very simple spread!

Additionally, you will want to use consumables such as food to boost your INT. Food like the Fruit Salad and Steamed Abaia Serpe can push your INT over the 50-point Threshold, giving you some extra damage buffs. Use them as needed!

As for your Skill Trees with these weapons, use the image shown above for reference. That will get you the must-have skills for both weapons. Again, though, focus on the Blunderbuss primarily. Maxing out its Skills first should be priority over the Fire Staff Skills.

Best PvE Equipment

Inferno Artifact – Best Damage Buff

Inferno | New World: Aeternum

This is the Artifact Fire Staff we were talking about before! Currently, if you want to do a PvE build as a DPS, the Inferno Artifact is one of the best things you can have. You get this from the Empyrean Forge Mutated Expedition in the Great Cleave.

The main thing about this Artifact is its Inner Power perk. This perk gives you a substantial +15% damage when hitting targets within 15m. This works on both weapons, so your Blunderbuss will benefit!

What’s more, this perk also makes the staff scale off Strength and Intelligence, matching the Blunderbuss scaling. While you generally will want to focus mainly on using the Blunderbuss, this does mean that the Inferno is usable, too.

We recommend getting this as soon as possible. Simply having this in your off-hand is a substantial increase to your damage output, making it a must-have for PvE content.

Old Crown Artifact

Old Crown | New World: Aeternum

Another must-have Artifact is the Old Crown. You can get this item randomly from the PvP Reward Track.

This crown has the unique Royal perk, which gives you +6 to all of your Attributes. This is a nice bonus, as it does increase your damage output slightly via extra STR and INT.

What’s more, the Old Crown has 3 modifiable Gem sockets. That means you can freely customize it with any 3 Gems you want… as long as they fit the slot categories, of course!

Overall, this is a pretty nice addition to the build and provides a lot of extra flexibility due to its Gem slots.

Blooddrinker Artifact

Yet another very strong Artifact for this build is the Blooddrinker ring. This one is a drop from the Starstone Barrows Mutated Expedition.

This Artifact’s unique perk is Ghoul’s Harmony. This gives you +25% Lifesteal, while also increasing all healing from Lifesteal by +5%. However, it decreases your base damage by 20%. The penalty is reduced to -15% if the enemy is diseased.

The damage penalty here can be a big deal, we won’t lie to you. However, the large Lifesteal bonus is extremely important for survivability. It makes this build a lot easier to play overall, as you can easily recover your health by simply dishing out damage!

Whether you wish to sacrifice damage for survivability or not is up to you. But we do generally recommend picking this one up.

Other Equipment and Perks

Besides the must-have Artifacts we’ve already talked about, the rest of your gear should focus mainly on looking for specific perks. These are the perks you want to have on your gear:

  • Survivability Perks
    • Keenly Fortified II
    • Enchanted Ward II – As many stacks as possible.
    • Elemental Ward IV – As many stacks as possible.
    • Quick Revive II
    • Highly Refreshing
    • Vicious II
    • Vital Energy II
    • Lifestealer’s Draught II
    • Leeching II – As many stacks as possible.
    • Physical Ward IV – As many stacks as possible.
    • Beloved II
    • Refreshment II
    • Leeching Shrapnel Blast II (Blunderbuss)
  • Damage Perks
    • Frost Attunement II
    • Abyssal Attunement II
    • Keenly Jagged II
    • Keenly Empowered II

We know that’s a lot of perks, but these all benefit this build! We recommend trying to make sure you have all of the damage perks listed at a minimum, then start focusing on survivability perks. Though, of course, what you prioritize depends on your playstyle somewhat.

Heartrune – Stoneform

Lastly, for your Heartune, we’ll recommend using the highest tier of Stoneform you can. You can get the base form for this Heartune from Chardis in the Lazarus Instrumentality Expedition. Higher tiers will require crafting.

This will allow you to activate the Fortifying Form for an extra percentage of armor or the Mending Form to heal yourself. It’s a massive boon to your survivability, making it a no-brainer for this build.

That’s all of our recommendations for the best Season 10 PvE build in New World: Aeternum. Mind you, however, the season has just started. This is all very early, and it’s possible for the meta to shift later on. Nonetheless, this should be an easy and powerful build right now!
