Season 10 of New World: Aeternum is a huge change, so it’s likely that the top 5 weapons for PvE and PvP aren’t going to be the same as usual!
There are massive changes to the entire gearing process this season. This also means there are lots of new perks available, some of which are definitely gamechangers. It’s a huge meta shift, essentially.
In this article, we’ll take a look at the top 5 weapons that we believe will dominate the meta this season.
Top 5 Weapons for PvE/PvP in Season 10 | New World: Aeternum
Ranged Supremacy: Blunderbuss, Musket, and Bow Are Top 3

Based on how things are looking, we can confidently say that the ranged weapons deserve to tie in the number 1 spot. That means the Blunderbuss, Musket, and Bow!
The main reason they all sit at the top together is that they share Thrust damage. As such, they all synergize well with each other since they can all take advantage of the same perks. For example, Thrust Harnessing, which grants buffs to all Thrust damage.
What’s more, these ranged weapons can now take advantage of the powerful Close Quarters perk. This perk increases the damage from these weapons by up to 20% when attacking enemies within a 10m radius.
This is particularly strong on the Blunderbuss, since it can do pretty well at close range. It works extra well when paired with the Inferno Artifact, which grants an extra bonus to damage within 15m.
There are also many easy ways for these 3 weapons to buff their damage, such as Trenchant Strikes, which buffs all heavy attacks by up to 15%! It works particularly well on the Bow, due to its range.

Speaking of, Bow users will definitely want the Contagious Plague Artifact, which is set to be extremely potent.
Its perk makes direct hits with Poison create a vortex to pull all enemies within 5m. It then spawns a poison cloud that does 25% poison damage every second and chases the direct hit target for 10 seconds!

For Musket users, the Lifetaker and Shrapnel Artifacts both show a lot of promise. They’re very versatile for both PvE and PvP, ensuring you have no trouble with any content.
To keep things short, there are now a lot of perks that work extremely well with these 3 ranged weapons! As such, their damage is going to skyrocket and they’ll be a top-tier pick both for PvE and PvP.
Void Gauntlet | Snowball Potential and Utility

The Void Gauntlet is another weapon that’s looking to be extremely useful overall, thanks to its Nullifying Oblivion II perk.
This perk makes it so that the Oblivion ability removes limited-time buffs from enemies while also increasing the duration of limited-time debuffs on them by up to 30%. Not to mention that Oblivion should still provide its usual attack power buff to you and your allies!
As a reminder here, DOT (damage over time) effects in New World count as debuffs! So, Nullifying Oblivion will extend their duration as well, giving you some extra DPS.
Thanks to this, the Void Gauntlet can be extremely good for turning the tide of a fight in your favor. Nullifying Oblivion alone can instantly give you an advantage, and that’s just one perk.
There are, of course, other good perks for the Void Gauntlet to take advantage of. Putrefying Scream II and Sundering Essence II are also looking pretty strong, as they can limit an opponent’s healing and defenses.
Overall, the Void Gauntlets are looking to be quite strong from a more “utility” oriented standpoint. They can help easily turn a fight back in your favor.
Flail | Incredible Burst Damage

Another weapon that’s looking likely to be in the top 5 is the Flail, which now has extremely high burst damage potential. This is partly due to some system-wide changes, such as the Inferno Artifact buff we mentioned before. But, there are some Flail changes worth noting too!
The biggest one is the Powerful Eruption II perk. This perk makes it so that Eruption does up to 16% more damage per Impairment stack on a target.
Considering that you can apply up to 3 stacks of Impairment, that is a massive damage buff for Eruption and the Flail as a whole.
When also considering ability combos, such as Trip + Eruption, landing a buffed Eruption should also not be too difficult, even in PvP.
Overall, it’s looking like the Flail will be capable of melting enemies with ease thanks to its high burst damage potential in Season 10! If that sounds like your playstyle, we definitely recommend trying this one out.
So, there you have it! That’s our top 5 weapons for PvE and PvP in Season 10 of New World: Aeternum. Do keep in mind, the season just started! These are our current predictions on the best weapons, but we still have to wait and see how the meta really develops this season.s
