If you want to clear 5 bosses in the Catacombs in Season 10 of New World: Aeternum, you’ll need to be able to go through them solo.
You’re always put into a team of 3 players when playing this mode. However, that doesn’t mean everyone needs to stick together at all times! It’s actually much more efficient for everyone to split up early on and go solo. Of course, that’s easier said than done…
In this guide, we’ll give you tips and tricks to help you be able to solo the Catacombs for more efficient runs.
How to Solo Catacombs & Clear 5 Bosses | New World: Aeternum – Season 10
Gearing Up

Realistically speaking, the most important factor for soloing the Catacombs is simply your build. You want a build that is capable of good damage so you can efficiently clear enemies before the 30-minute timer ends. However, you also want to be resilient and self-sustainable!
In short, you need to strike a perfect balance between damage and defense. Going all in on damage will make you too squishy, while going all in on defense will make you too slow.
If you want such a build, we recommend checking out our best solo build guide. It goes into full detail over a build that would be a perfect fit for trying to solo the Catacombs.
That said, you can also make some adjustments to that build. Wearing lighter armor to go into Medium weight, for example, can help.

Being at Medium weight increases your damage output, which matters a lot when you’re on a timer. However, you do lose some tankiness, so keep that in mind!
Another thing you can do is to stick to Medium only until you defeat the first boss. After you do, switch to Heavy for the added survivability. This can speed up the run slightly.
Speaking of weight, though, temporarily changing your armor to go down to Light weight can help during a run. This allows you to move faster between bosses, but you do have to re-equip your proper armor once you reach a boss.
Lastly, your level is also very important. We don’t recommend trying to solo the Catacombs until you’re at Level 70!
Boss Priority

Another important thing to do to make each run easier is to choose when to fight which boss. Not all of the bosses are equally hard, after all!
Every time you take down a boss in the Catacombs, the rest of the dungeon gets harder. So, you can make things easier for yourself by leaving weaker bosses for last. They’ll be less of a threat compared to leaving the stronger bosses for last.
Now, this is a very variable part. After all, the Catacombs’ layout is random. You don’t always get a good enough layout that allows you to choose which bosses to fight and when.
Also, everyone likely has a different perception of which bosses are easier or harder. You’ll want to go with your feeling on which bosses you have an easier time with, here!

That said, we recommend prioritizing Hadish Azar, Keeper of Flame first. This boss is extremely tanky and deals high damage even at the starting difficulty. Fighting him later into the run will mean he can most likely oneshot you, easily.
The Souleater is another boss that’s generally recommended to defeat early on, before your 3rd boss. It’s not quite as strong overall as Hadish Azar, but it can quickly overwhelm you with its adds if fought late.
The Siren’s Guide is another one you should do as one of the first 3. This boss has a lot of Rends, which can set you up for oneshots with extreme ease. It’s relatively simple, but it has a lot of damage potential!
That said, again, which bosses you find easier and hardest is up to you. So, keep that in mind when choosing the boss order.
Overall Gameplan

Now, as we mentioned before, you can still only do Catacombs with 2 other players. But being able to go through it solo does allow your entire team to tackle it more effectively.
The main thing you and your team want to do is to split up at the start. Explore the Catacombs to find out which bosses are where. Farm the Elites and complete the Trials you find on the way. Collect any Ascensions and Aspects you find to strengthen yourself before tackling the main bosses!
This all goes back to the previous point. Finding out the layout and location of bosses will allow you to decide in which order to tackle them. Plus, you’ll be strengthened by exploring.
Once your team has done enough exploring to reveal most of the Catacombs and get stronger, it’s time to start taking out bosses!

At this point, your team will want to start grouping together to rush all the bosses. If you and the others are confident, you can try soloing 1 or 2 of the bosses before meeting up. Anything more than that would be too risky usually, however.
Once the whole team is together, it’s just a matter of rushing all the bosses one after another. The optimal order and routing here will vary greatly, of course, due to the randomization.
Also, communication is fairly important at this point. Make sure everyone’s on the same page when deciding which bosses to fight and when.
Nonetheless, that’s all you need to know to be able to try to solo the Catacboms in Season 10 of New World: Aeternum so that your team can clear 5 bosses!
