Summons are one of the most important parts for progression in Neverness to Everness, especially with the full Scarborough Fair system going live globally.

Unlike most gacha games, NTE is actually one of the more generous out there when it comes to handing out free summons, and knowing where all of them come from can make a real difference in how fast you can build your roster.

That said, limited banners no longer use the traditional 50/50 system, which is common on most gacha games. As a result, you can always get the featured S-class character. But how exactly do you get the summons in the game?

Well, this guide is here to help you out.

All the Ways to Get Summons as a Free-to-Play in Neverness to Everness

Before anything else, let’s first have a brief overview of how Neverness to Everness’s gacha system works.

Unlike the traditional pull system present in other gacha games, NTE has the so-called Scarborough Fair system. This is essentially a board-game-inspired system where you use special dice to move across the tiles containing rewards.

Instead of standard pulls, you use:

  • Fabricated Dice for the standard board
  • Solid Dice for the limited banners
  • Tri-Keys for Arc Research Program banners

Each roll of a banner will roll your game piece, also known as Chuppa, across the board. Whenever you land on a tile, you will get a reward depending on the type of reward shown on the tile beforehand.

Personally, I believe this system is far more simplified than the traditional pull system. It also gives you a sense of “control” even though you’re not really controlling the outcome.

The mechanics can look confusing at first, especially if you’re used to the traditional systems in other games. However, once you understand how currencies, banners, and progression systems work, it should be easier to maximize your pulls.

Also, as mentioned earlier, if you pull an S-class unit from a limited board, that character is ALWAYS the featured character. Fortunately, the game gives you a lot of ways to earn Dice even as a F2P player, which you then use on the board to get summons.

Here are some known methods for doing so:

Daily Login Gift

The "Login Gift" Event.

No doubt the easiest way to pick up some free Dice is via the “Login Gift” event which is available daily. Simply log in each day and collect your daily reward. You can access this through the Event page.

Hunter Levels

The "Anomaly Hunter's Journey" Event.

On the same Event page, click on the “Anomaly Hunter’s Journey” tab for a list of rewards tied to specific Hunter Level milestones, going all the way up to level 40.

Each time you hit one of the listed Hunter Levels, you can head back to this page and claim the Dice reward sitting against it.

Chapters

Chapter's Screen in the Exploration Guide.

Next up, we have the Chapter objectives, which you can find and track through the Exploration Guide in the menu. Each chapter contains a set of specific objectives that you need to complete to finish it.

These range from story-related tasks to exploration goals and various other activities spread across Hethereau.

Completing a full chapter rewards you with Annulith, which is the premium currency you can convert into Dice for pulling on the banners. On top of the Annulith, finishing chapters also hands out a variety of other useful rewards alongside a solid chunk of Hunter Level EXP.

Daily and Weekly Activities

The Daily Activities screen of the Exploration Guide.

Inside the Exploration Guide is the Daily Activities section, which resets every single day and gives you a fresh set of tasks to work through. Completing enough of these to reach 100 participation points will reward you with some Annulith.

It is not a huge amount on its own, but that is kind of the point with daily rewards. The value comes from doing it consistently every day rather than treating it as a one-time thing.

A small amount of Annulith earned daily adds up to a meaningful stack over the course of a week or two, and since the tasks themselves are generally quick and straightforward to knock out, there is really no reason to skip them.

Weekly objectives are especially important since recent updates increased the amount of Annulith you can get. As long as you consistently complete weekly objectives, you should be able to generate an even steadier stream of pulls than before.

If you’re F2P, do your best not to miss weekly reset rewards, as it will significantly slow your pity progress.

Beyond The Rails

The "Beyond The Rails" Anomaly Zone.

Beyond The Rails is an Anomaly Zone that is split across multiple levels, and it is honestly one of the best sources of Annulith available in the game right now. Each time you clear a set of levels, you earn a decent chunk of Annulith as a reward.

You can access Beyond The Rails directly through the Exploration Guide, so it is easy to find and jump into without having to hunt around the map for it.

Tutorials

Tutorial section of the Exploration Guide.

Inside the Exploration Guide, you will also find a dedicated Tutorial section worth checking out early on. It is split into basic game tutorials that walk you through the core mechanics and character-specific tutorials for the characters you currently have on your roster.

Completing these is genuinely easy, and none of them takes much time to get through. On top of helping you get a better understanding of how the game works and how to play your characters more effectively, each tutorial you complete rewards you with Annulith.

Character Ascension

Another source of free Dice that is easy to overlook is character ascension.

Every time you ascend a character to their first and fifth ascension milestone, you will receive a dice as a reward. Since you will naturally be ascending your characters as you progress and invest resources into your roster, these Dice come in without requiring any extra effort on your part beyond what you would already be doing.

To claim them, head into the character info screen and look for the exclamation mark sitting near the character level. Tap on it and the reward will be waiting there for you to collect.

Character Bond Rewards

Another way to earn Annulith passively over time is through the gifting system. You can send gifts to your characters using various items to increase your bond level with them.

As your bond level climbs and hits certain milestones, you will receive Annulith as a reward.

Wanderer’s Journal

Wanderer's Journal.

On the map interface, you will notice a button in the upper right corner that opens up the Wanderer’s Journal. Inside, you will find a variety of tasks organized by district, each with its own set of objectives to work through as you explore Hethereau.

Completing tasks within a district builds up your Wanderer’s Reward progress for that area, and at certain milestones, those rewards include Dice. The exact rewards vary from district to district, so it is worth checking each one individually to see what is on offer and how close you are to the next milestone.

One of the most important task categories to pay attention to across each district is the Anomaly Commissions. These stand out from the rest because, on top of the standard district rewards, they also hand out Annulith upon completion.

City Tycoon

The City Tycoon interface.

Another solid source of Annulith comes from your City Tycoon progression.

Every time you level up your Tycoon rank you receive Annulith as part of the level up reward, and since Tycoon levels come in naturally as you engage with the city side of the game, it is one of the more passive ways to keep Annulith flowing into your account.

Beyond the level up rewards themselves, the Tycoon menu also gives you access to additional sources worth paying attention to.

Property, the Cafe, and Hethereau Hobbies all have their own activities and progression systems, and each of them offers Annulith at various points as you engage with them.

The Witch’s House

Blackbird at the Witch's House.

Inside the Witch’s House, you can interact with Blackbird and open up the Oracle menu. This is where you can submit any Oracle Stones you have collected out in the world and trade them in to increase your level at the Witch’s House.

Each time your level goes up, you receive Annulith alongside various other rewards depending on the milestone you hit.

Battle Pass

The free battle pass in NTE is another source of Annulith and Dice worth keeping on top of each season. You progress through it by earning EXP from Daily, Weekly, and Seasonal missions, and at various milestones along the free track, you will receive Annulith and Dice as rewards.

Mall

You have access to a couple of additional ways to convert resources you are already earning into pulling currency through the Fair Exchange in the Mall. In both the Warp Exchange and the Lost Exchange, you can trade in your Warp Pieces and Lost Pieces, respectively, to get Solid Dice, Fabricated Dice, and Tri-Keys.

Both Warp Pieces and Lost Pieces are earned naturally from banner pulls. On top of that, the Hunter Exchange lets you spend Fons to get Annulith and a couple of Tri-Keys as well.

Fons is the everyday city currency you earn through Tycoon activities, deliveries, and general city progression, which is one of the reasons pushing your Tycoon Level is important.

Achievements

The Achievements screen.

Another steady source of Annulith that requires very little active effort is the achievement system. Achievements in NTE cover a wide range of activities, including exploration milestones, combat challenges, quest completions, city progression, and various other things you will naturally be doing as you play through the game.

Most of them you will knock out without even realizing it simply by engaging with the content normally. You do not need to go out of your way to hunt them down or change how you play around them.

The main thing to stay on top of is checking back on the achievement screen every now and then to collect the Annulith rewards on the ones you have already completed.

The Best Ways to Save Summons

Since the banner schedule has accelerated, it has become more important to manage your resources properly. Most experienced players recommend saving your Solid Dice only for limited S-class characters.

As much as possible, don’t aimlessly spend your resources on standard banners.

I’d also recommend prioritizing team synergy over completing your collection, and try to plan around future banner schedules as well. Since there’s no 50/50 system in NTE, you can plan ahead carefully to maximize your resources and not end up wasting them.

Wrapping Up

That covers every way to get free pulls in Neverness to Everness. The sources are spread across a lot of different systems, and it is easy to miss a handful of them if you are not paying attention, but once you have a consistent routine locked in across your dailies, the Exploration Guide, Beyond The Rails, and the various exchange shops, the pulls start stacking up faster than you might expect.

Stay on top of everything regularly and you will always have currency building toward your next banner.

Once you have a solid stash of Dice ready to spend, make sure you are pulling on the right banners for your account. If you have not yet used your free S rank selectors, check out my guide on the best free S rank characters to choose in NTE so you know exactly who to go for before you commit.
