Hunter Level is the backbone of progression in Neverness to Everness. It controls how much of the game you can access. Most new players hit a wall somewhere around level 20 because the main story starts gating progress behind Hunter Level requirements and there are not enough quests left in the immediate area to push through it quickly.
The good news is that Hunter EXP comes from almost everything you do in the game. But knowing which sources to prioritize and in what order makes a significant difference to how fast you get there. In this guide, I will go over the best method of earning Hunter EXP.
Best Ways to Quickly Level Up
Early on, the best and most efficient way to rack up Hunter EXP is by pushing through the main story quests. You should be solely focusing on these in the beginning rather than getting distracted by side content. Main story quests award the largest chunks of Hunter EXP of anything available in the early game.
Individual quests range from 100 EXP for shorter tasks all the way up to 2000 EXP for longer ones. On top of the EXP they are also what unlocks every major system in the game, so every quest you complete is doing double duty by pushing your Hunter Level forward and opening up more content at the same time.
Side Quests
Once you reach a point in the main story where further progression requires a higher Hunter Level than you currently have, it is time to shift your focus over to side quests. These are your best option for pushing your Hunter Level up quickly when the main story gates you out.
You can find them by tapping the button in the top right corner of the map interface to open up the Wanderer’s Journal. Inside you will find side quests listed for each district, labeled as “Side” so they are easy to identify. Work through as many of these as you can in the districts you have already unlocked. Some of them are short and straightforward while others can take a bit more time to complete.

Anomaly Commissions
Once you have cleared through the main story and side quests, the next thing to shift your focus toward is Anomaly Commissions. These can also be accessed through the Wanderer’s Journal just like the side quests. Start with the one star commissions first and work your way up through the difficulty tiers until you are tackling the four star ones.
The jump in complexity and length between tiers is noticeable. Some of the higher tier commissions can genuinely take up to two hours to complete, especially the four star ones, so set aside some time when you sit down to tackle those. They are a significant source of Hunter EXP and Annulith so pushing through them is absolutely worth it despite the time commitment.
Two of the more notorious ones you will run into are the Nameless Hospital Anomaly and the After School Anomaly. Both of these have a reputation for being particularly confusing and time consuming compared to others in the same tier. We have dedicated guides for both of them so make sure to check those out before going in to save yourself a lot of frustration.
Character Bond Quests
Once you have worked through everything mentioned above, the next source of Hunter EXP worth turning your attention to is character bond quests. These unlock automatically and show up in your Messages interface once you have raised your bond level with a character high enough.
The two main ways to raise your bond level are by gifting characters items regularly and by completing their Encounters out in the city. The Hunter EXP from bond quests is not the biggest payout compared to story quests or Anomaly Commissions. But every bit adds up over time.

The Witch’s House
Throughout the map you will come across glowing red ravens scattered around Hethereau. Getting close to one automatically collects it and rewards you with an Oracle Stone without requiring any interaction. These Oracle Stones can be taken to Blackbird at the Witch’s House and traded in to increase your level there. Each level up rewards you with a solid chunk of Hunter EXP on top of various other items. Making consistent progress here is well worth the effort.

That said, finding and collecting all the Oracle Stones across the map is a significantly more time consuming task than clearing side quests or Anomaly Commissions. It will take considerably longer to fully complete. To help track them down you can use an in-game item called the Oracle Crystal which reveals nearby Oracle Stones within a close proximity.
However the most efficient way to go about it is by using an interactive map. A couple of reliable ones are easily accessible through a quick internet search and will show you the exact location of every Oracle Stone on the map. This saves a huge amount of time compared to wandering around hoping to stumble across them naturally.
Exploration Guide
Inside the Exploration Guide you will also find a series of phases available for you to work through. Each phase contains a set of objectives covering various activities across Hethereau. These range from exploration tasks to city related goals and other miscellaneous activities tied to the different systems in the game.
Completing each phase and ticking off its objectives rewards you with a decent amount of Hunter EXP on top of phase rewards. They are worth keeping an eye on and knocking out as you naturally progress through the game since many of the objectives will complete themselves as a byproduct of things you are already doing anyway.

Tycoon Levels
Another solid source of Hunter EXP is levelling up your Tycoon Level. Every time your Tycoon Level goes up you get a decent chunk of Hunter EXP on top of everything else it gives you. So make sure you are always actively working on City Tycoon.

Daily Activities
Once you have worked through everything else, make sure you are completing your Daily Activities every day. They offer a solid amount of Hunter EXP and only take a short amount of time to knock out. You can access them through the Exploration Guide.

Wrapping Up
That covers every meaningful source of Hunter EXP in Neverness to Everness. The key is prioritising things in the right order rather than jumping around randomly. Push the main story as far as it will take you. Fill the gaps with side quests and Anomaly Commissions. Then let the smaller sources like Daily Activities, Tycoon Levels, and Oracle Stones stack up passively alongside everything else. Do that consistently and the level gates will stop feeling like walls pretty quickly.
