The game is set in a dark fantasy world full of daunting creatures and difficult challenges. In a world this unfriendly, is it possible to play multiplayer with your friends to make it less difficult?

Is It Multiplayer & How Many Players Can Play At One Time?

Enshrouded is indeed multiplayer! It features co-op gameplay with up to 16 players at a time. This was confirmed on their site’s FAQ.

The developers say that while the game can be played solo as well, they recommend playing it with some friends as it is just more enjoyable that way.

This recommendation by the developers makes perfect sense when you consider the kind of game Enshrouded is.

With a party of many diverse players, everyone can carve out their unique role so you can have a multifaceted group ready to tackle any challenge the game might present.

Plus, you can all pool your resources while crafting and building to reduce the amount of grind time required to build impressive structures.

If you do need to play solo because of internet connections or a lack of friends, you can still do just fine.

The developers have confirmed that the game’s difficulty scales with the amount of players. This means that it’s perfectly possible to have a good time challenging the harsh realm of Enshrouded alone.

Some players have asked about local co-op being in the game, but unfortunately, that is not a feature in the game. Players have to connect online to be able to use all of the multiplayer services provided by the game.

There is also no PvP present in the game currently, local or online. The game is still in early access though, so that might change in the future.
