They even reiterated that it won’t suffer the same fate that Monster Hunter Wilds had when it released earlier this year.
During a Q&A in their most recent earnings call, Capcom pointed out that since Resident Evil Requiem and Monster Hunter Wilds are two completely different games, the former will hopefully come out with no performance issues whatsoever.
They even implied that Monster Hunter Wilds was a much harder game to optimize.

It’s worth noting that Monster Hunter Wilds has been riddled with a lot of performance issues since its release. Even up to this day, the game still experiences a ton of technical problems that were present months ago.
Back in August this year, Monster Hunter posted on X (formerly Twitter) about the upcoming Free Title Update 4, which will release this winter.
This update is supposed to improve the overall state of the game by including a ton of CPU and GPU optimizations.
“To our hunters playing #MHWilds on PC, we’re committed to listening to your feedback and improving both performance and stability of the game,” they tweeted.
How this upcoming update will fix the current situation of Monster Hunter Wilds still remains to be seen.
Resident Evil Requiem Won’t Have the Same Risks as Monster Hunter Wilds
When asked during the Q&A if Resident Evil Requiem would have a risk of suffering from the same technical issues that Monster Hunter Wilds had, Capcom denied it being so.
They stated that the game is quite different in terms of architecture, system, gameplay, and network features.
“At present, we do not anticipate similar risks. We are developing the game to provide a smooth gaming experience across a wide range of PC specifications,” says Capcom.
This should at least give fans a bit of comfort, especially to those who were burnt out by Monster Hunter Wilds’ broken release state.
But of course, it’s not like Capcom is just out to say that Resident Evil Requiem will have issues at launch, especially to their investors.
That said, it won’t be surprising if the game does come out in a solid state, considering that previous Resident Evil games have all performed smoothly upon launch. For now, we can only wait and see how Resident Evil Requiem will turn out when it comes out.
Resident Evil Requiem is slated to release on February 27, 2026 on consoles and PC.
