Age of Wonders 4: Where Are the Save Game & Config Files Stored

Just like with any new game release, knowing where your save and config files for Age of Wonders 4 are located is important for a couple of reasons.

It could be that you want to back up your save so you can return to a previous game state in case you mess up your current playthrough. Or it could be because you want to tweak some settings directly in the config file.

Where Are the Save Game & Config Files Stored in Age of Wonders 4

Obviously, the location of your files will vary depending on which platform you’re playing on.

Steam

If you play Age of Wonders 4 on PC via Steam, here’s how you can locate your save and config files:

1. Open File Explorer by pressing both the Windows key + E simultaneously.
2. Click on Documents and look for the Paradox Interactive folder.
3. Inside the folder are a bunch of subfolders. For the config file, simply click on the Config subfolder. You’ll then find the PlatformSettings0 text file which is basically the config file for the game.
4. As for your save file, simply look for the Storage subfolder inside the Paradox Interactive folder. It will contain all of your save files to date.

PlayStation 5

On the other hand, if you’re playing on PlayStation 5, head to the main menu and choose Settings.

Look for the Storage option and choose between Console Storage and Cloud Storage.

This will open up a list of data. All you have to do is look for Age of Wonders 4.

Xbox

Meanwhile, if you’re on Xbox, head to the home screen and look for My Games & Apps. This will open up your library of games; simply look for Age of Wonders 4.

Press your menu button to open up a list of options. Choose Manage Game & Add-ons then choose Saved Data to gain access to your save file.
