In STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, you will be meeting all kinds of individuals out in the Zone, and some of them will even give you side quests to complete. In this guide, we will be talking about Squint, who is somebody you will meet throughout the main storyline. More specifically, let us go over whether or not you should attack him.
Should You Kill Squint?
You first meet Squint in the mission called A Needle in a Haystack, which is still really early into the game. Needless to say, this should be your first hint that you might not want to kill him just yet.
There are multiple opportunities to attack Squint, but in the event that you help him acquire the Mold artifact first, you get the option to kill him instead of giving him what he wants. This lets you keep the artifact and whatever other loot he has on him.
Either way, you will acquire the Ward Sensors from him. So, the choice really just boils down to whether or not you think you will meet him again later down the line.
Personally, I would recommend leaving him alive just on the off chance that he becomes even just a bit relevant again later. Otherwise, there does not seem to be any consequences for killing him, at least as far as we know right now.
And that’s a wrap, as there really is nothing else to do with him after this part. He will either thank you and run off, or he will be laying on the ground completely lifeless. Either way, you are going to need his Ward Sensors to continue the main quest!
Franco is a writer and avid gamer who spends a lot of his free time looking for the next obscure indie roguelike to add to his collection. If he’s not busy working or writing on his personal blog, there’s also a non-zero chance that you stumble into him in pretty much any multiplayer game that has SEA or OCE servers. He’s pretty good at anything unless it’s a fighting game, in which case you’d probably body him.
