Hilka Detector – Works similarly to the standard Echo Detector, but it has a much larger detection range. You can obtain it as part of the “Budmo!” side quest. It starts at the Slag Heap in Garbage. Steal the items from the Power Transmission Pylon Stash to get it.

Bear Detector – Adds a distance display to the standard Echo Detector, making it easier to tell how close an Artifact is. You can get it as a reward from the “A Sign of Hope” side mission. To do the side mission, talk with Prof. Lodochka at Wild Island. His location is shown above.

Veles Detector – The best detector by far. It has a radar display that pinpoints the exact location of Artifacts and Anomalies, displaying them as dots.

Sadly, this one is a bit tricky to get, and doesn’t seem to have an easy reliable location. However, you can receive it as a reward from the “In Search of Past Glory” main story quest. The downside is that it seems that you won’t get it if you decide to side with the Ward during the story, though. What’s more, the quest is currently fairly glitchy, too…

In short, side with the Stalkers in the story if you want to get the Veles Detector easily.

Besides these guaranteed sources, you can also purchase these Artifact Detectors from the Traders in various settlements. Their wares are random and change sporadically, however. The Traders at Rostok and Yaniv Station seem to have the best chance of having the Artifact Detectors.

Additionally, you might find them randomly when exploring. They can appear in stashes, dead enemies, and also just lying about in some areas. Keep your eyes peeled for them!

So there you have it, that’s what we know of the location of every upgraded Artifact Detector in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl! As for how to use them, the process remains largely the same as using the standard Echo Detector. It’s quite simple, really.
