You might come across a small puzzle involving a Wooden Model Alpaca herd as you explore Natlan in Genshin Impact.

These Wooden Puzzle Alpacas simply need you to pick them up and place them in certain spots. Your only clue is some splashes of paint, though!

In this short guide, we’ll help you start and complete this small puzzle so that you can claim a Precious Chest.

Wooden Model Alpaca Puzzle Solution

Puzzle start

You can start the Wooden Model Alpaca puzzle in the northern part of Tequemecan Valley in Genshin Impact. Reach the spot marked on the map above to find a small ranch with 5 Wooden Model Alpacas.

Wooden Alpaca Ranch

Enter the ranch and pick up 3 of the 5 Wooden Model Alpacas. Note that you can only pick up the ones that don’t have a splash of paint below them, which hints at where you need to place the others.

Rock splash of paint

First, turn to the southeast to find a small rock with a splash of paint on it. Approach it and you’ll be able to place one of the Wooden Model Alpaca you grabbed.

Pillar 1

Next, look for a tall rock pillar in front of the ranch and climb it. Place the second Wooden Model Alpaca on top of the pillar.

Pillar 2

Then, climb the even taller rock pillar next to the one you’re on and place the final Wooden Model Alpaca at its top.

Precious Chest spawned

With the puzzle completed now, a Precious Chest will spawn back at the ranch. Jump off the pillar and go collect your well-deserved rewards! Note that due to being in the Tequemecan Valley, the Precious Chest has a chance to drop a Yellow Obsidian Fragment. You can use it to open the Children of Echoes tribe’s trove and get a Sanctifying Elixir!
