Wuthering Waves: Echo Farming Guide

Echo farming for ultimate arming!

Published

on

One of the most important resources throughout Wuthering Waves is Echoes. Picked up from defeated enemies, they can be used for many things, including boosting your stats and abilities. Since collecting plenty of them is a great idea, here’s how to go about Farming Echoes!

Echo Farming Guide

The game has three types of Echo: 1-Cost, 3-Cost, and 4-Cost. The lowest ones are found in Common enemies, the 3-Cost in Elites, and Bosses drop the highest.

So, we know where to get them, but there’s a problem: they’re a random drop, meaning you won’t get one from every single battle. So, we need to figure out how to maximise the drop rate!

Data Bank

When you absorb an Echo in Wuthering Waves, you earn Data Bank EXP. You gain many boosts by levelling up your Data Bank, including an Increased Echo Drop Rate.

A 60% Enhanced Drop Rate feels almost like cheating! …Almost.

There are two kinds: the Base Drop Rate and the Enhanced Drop Rate. The first, and simplest, deals with the Echoes dropped by any non-boss enemy. As you level up your Data Bank, the chances of these lower-level opponents giving you an Echo increases. But, of course, the lower the level, the lower the cost of the Echo dropped.

The Enhanced Drop Rate is reserved only for Bosses, meaning 4-Cost Echoes. This drop rate will be higher than the Base Rate, but it has a limit! You only get 15 chances a week to get 4-Cost Echoes at a higher rate than usual. This resets every Monday at 4 am on your server time. Make sure to use up all 15 before it resets for the best chances!

Personally, I wouldn’t be fighting a big monster called ‘Ruthless Fury’.

Remember that only absorbing one of each kind of Echo grants you EXP, so always absorb the first one you find! Levelling up your Data Bank as early as possible is the best way to maximise your Echo Farming in Wuthering Waves!

Hunt those Echoes!

The easiest way to get Echoes in the game is by defeating enemies. So, get to fighting! Hunt around, preferably with a high-level Data Bank for maximum drop potential, and find those Echoes!

If there’s a specific one you’re after, you can use the Guidebook to track it down. Head into the Echo Hunting section, choose your Echo, and click ‘Detect’.

Another option is to go to the Tacet Fields. Here, you can complete Cleanups to defeat a lot of enemies, which will reward you with Echoes, as well as Echo Enhancement materials like Tubes and Tuners. Doing these challenges does use up Waveplates, however, and since these are better spent elsewhere, it might not be the best option.

Data Merge and Co-Op

These two final ways to get more Echoes are pretty straightforward. The game’s Data Merge feature takes 5 Echoes and combines them to produce a completely random Echo. If you have a bunch piling up that you don’t have a use for, this is a great way to potentially nab yourself a brand-new Echo.

Another way is to play Co-Op. Your own world will have a daily limit on Echoes, but it can be bypassed by entering someone else’s world. Here, you can farm Echoes to your heart’s content!
