Fellowship is one of the many stats that characters in Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader have, but it’s not really clear how important it is.

Fellowship isn’t quite as straightforward as something like Strength or Toughness. Makes it a tad harder to tell just how useful it really is or isn’t.

In this guide, we’ll go over what the Fellowship stat does and whether or not you should focus on it!

The Importance of The Fellowship Stat in Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader

Fellowship (FEL) is the stat that governs the “social skills” of a character. In the game’s own words, it measures a character’s persuasiveness, ability to lead, and force personality.

Characters with high Fellowship are able to charm or befriend other characters more easily, which in turn can lead to them becoming allies. It’s used in the Persuasion, Commerce, and Coercion skills.

Fellowship is also required to pass certain skill checks in dialogue. Not really surprising, considering it’s all about the social graces!

As for how useful and important it is, well… Fellowship is pretty much useless for anyone other than Officer class units.

Officers use their Fellowship and Willpower stats primarily inside and outside of combat.

Dialogues sometimes have Fellowship stat checks

It’s also useful if you want to make any specific unit the leader or face of your party, as they will be the ones engaging in social interactions outside of combat.

Realistically speaking, though, you should have an Officer as your party leader so you can kill two birds with one stone!

It’s also worth noting that characters with the Voidborn origin get the Be Smart talent. This allows them to use Intelligence instead of Fellowship for abilities and other talents.

It does not, however, replace Fellowship checks in dialogue with Intelligence checks! Can’t have everything in this world…

Nonetheless, there you have it. In short, Fellowship is a stat that is extremely useful for the party leader and Officers. For anyone else, though? Not really important at all, honestly.
