The more companions you have in Wartales, the higher your chances of winning battles.
While you can recruit various individuals throughout your journey, you also have the option to enlist animal companions in your party.
That said, if you want to have an animal companion, you need to capture one first. In this guide, we’ll teach you how exactly you can capture animals and keep them as companions.
Capturing Animals for Companions in Wartales
Don’t discount animals just because you think they’re useless compared to your human companions. In fact, animals are way more powerful than you think.
Some of them boast of high movement speed and powerful attacks that can greatly help turn the tides of battle. However, getting one is a bit tricky and requires a lot of patience.
To capture an animal, you will need some ropes. We recommend bringing a lot of rope, as some animals are way harder to capture than others.
Once you have enough rope, head to the forest and look for the animal you want to capture. As far as we know, there are 8 types of animals you can capture which are as follows:
Bears
Boars
Crocswines
Mole Rats
Mosquitoes
Ponies
Rats
Wolves
Once you find the animal you want to capture, engage it in combat. You don’t want to kill it; instead, lower its HP all the way down to 50% or less.
At this point, the animal is basically weakened and you can then capture it. However, you can only do so using either a Ranger or an Archer unit.
All you have to do is approach the animal using that unit, then click the Capture skill on the hotbar and point it at your target. This will then attempt to capture the animal. The lower its health, the higher your chances of capturing it.
After you have successfully captured your target animal, make sure to heal it as it will be heavily injured from the combat.
