Genshin Impact: Varuna Gatha Quests and Puzzle Guide
The Varuna Gatha is a Sumeru World quest that normally involves a series of quests that you need to complete. It also involves a puzzle that’s relatively easy to solve.
The new Sumeru region features a handful of World Quests that you can complete. One of them is Varuna Gatha which involves a journey toward healing the Varuna Contraption. The premise is that the tree used to have the ability to turn black rain into a good one.
However, since it has contracted sickness, your task will be to restore it to its original health. In this guide, I’ll show you everything you need to do in order to complete this questline.
Varuna Gatha Quests and Puzzle Guide in Genshin Impact
First and foremost, you first need to unlock the quest. You can do so by completing the first quest that’s part of the Aranyaka: Part II Dream Nursery questline. As soon as you complete this quest called The World of Aranara, you will then have access to the rainforest area in Sumeru to the northwestern part.
At the same time, this also lets you switch between the real Vanarana and its dream version. When you’re ready, you want to head over to the Ashavan Realm which you find on this part of the map:
There, you’ll find an Aranara named Arapandu who you need to talk to. After a brief conversation, you want to head over to the vantage spot alongside the Aranara. A brief cutscene will then play, and your next task will be to defeat two Fungi at the front.
Doing so will create Four-Leaf Sigils which you need to use to make your way to your rendezvous spot which is Apam Woods. After defeating the fungi, follow the marker on the map until you come across a cave with stone statues. This will be a puzzle you need to solve in order to move forward.
Solving the Puzzle
The solution to the puzzle is actually pretty simple. Once you get close to them, you’ll find a prompt that allows you to rotate each of them. Basically, all you need to do is rotate each of them so that they all face the statue in the middle.
There are only three of them, so it shouldn’t take you long to complete it. Afterward, talk to Arapandu to finish the quest. Completing this quest will also unlock three new quests in the Varuna Gatha questline. You can do any of them in any order, but the gist of each quest is as follows:
Memory of Stone – Look for Aranukala within the Yasna Monument. It also features the same statue puzzle as the main quest.
Irate Iron Chunk – Look for Arabalika somewhere in the Ruins of Dahri. The same puzzle also exists in this quest.
Slumbering Roots – Look for Arakunti in the Grove of Dreams. It also has the same puzzle, but unlike the other two, this one involves another puzzle where you have to play Aranara music using the Vintage Lyre.
Once you finish the questline, you will then receive various rewards and the song, Rhythm of the Source Water. Playing this song lets you control the Varuna Contraption which lets you change the weather in the Apam Woods between Sunny and Rainy.
