Lies of P: Overture expands P’s repertoire of weapons with 10 more weapons, which we will be ranking today from best to worst. Just like the ones in the base game, these new weapons aren’t all made equal. Quite literally, in fact, considering how different the special and boss weapons are from regular ones!
With the DLC now being fully settled into the meta, several weapons are now favored by lots of players for boss rematches, aggressive Technique builds, and even high stagger setups. Nonetheless, here’s our full tier list ranking.
Best DLC Weapon Tier List in Lies of P: Overture
- S+ Tier – Monad’s Rose Sword
- S Tier – Pale Knight, Death’s Talons
- A Tier – Royal Horn Bow, Lorenzini Bolt, Maniac’s Pinwheel, La Vendetta
- B Tier – Puppet of the Future’s Welder, Arche’s Guardian
- C Tier – Silent Evangelists’ Mace
Surprising pretty much no one, our S+ and S tiers are entirely made out of unique special weapons, which are quite a treat in this DLC!

S+ Tier
First of all, let’s talk about the Monad’s Rose Sword, which deserves its very own tier at the top simply because this weapon is positively ridiculous.
It’s fast and light while also being capable of dishing out incredibly high damage. The only downside is that you get it at the very end of the DLC, being a reward for the final boss.
Even after months of testing, this weapon still sits comfortably at the top of the meta. In fact, very few weapons can match its overall versatility.
Most notably, its “By The Name of the Rose” Fable Art is pretty much broken. After a bit of a long animation, P will disappear and cover the nearby area in fast slashes that deal massive damage. All that while being invincible during the animation after the startup.
For bonus effect, just sing “I am the storm that is approaching” as you use it! The weapon scales especially well in builds that focus on Techniques, but it can also perform well enough in most hybrid builds.
Quite simply, the weapon feels strong in pretty much every situation without requiring a lot of adjustment.
S Tier

In the S Tier, let’s kick things off with the powerful Pale Knight. This unique weapon is pretty much a gunblade, working just like how any Final Fantasy fan would expect from Squall’s signature weapon.
What felt like a gimmick at first has proven surprisingly effective in sustained combat.
Its light attacks are pretty speedy horizontal slashes that hit hard and cover a wide area. The heavy attacks, on the other hand, allow you to use the “gun” portion of the gunblade. Heavy attacks cause detonations that can deal massive damage, while also allowing you to reposition to dodge attacks with the recoil.
In my opinion, its only real weakness is that it takes more practice compared to most DLC weapons.

Right behind the Pale Knight are the Death’s Talons, which are a unique claw that works best for anyone wanting a very agile Technique-focused playstyle. They have a ridiculous 40% Critical Rate, which means they also pair great with the Assassin’s Amulet for great damage.
They also pair excellently with the Arm of God Amulet, thanks to the speedy moveset!
The claws synergize perfectly with builds that focus on status buildups. Moreover, its mobility helps compensate for some of the more aggressive enemy patterns in the DLC.
A Tier and B Tier

Weapons A tier and below are mostly just the “generic” weapons, which are hard to rank in Lies of P. After all, you can disassemble all of these into blades and handles you can mix and match. Since this gives you a lot of options for potential weapons, it’s kind of hard to quantify just how good each weapon is on its own!
First, we have the Royal Horn Bow. This is potentially the first unique weapon you can get in the DLC, as it’s found pretty early on. What makes it shine is the fact that it’s the only bow in the game, and it doesn’t even require a supply of arrows to use!
This gives you free projectile options, making it an excellent secondary weapon for pretty much every build. Its damage isn’t too high and it can be clunky against bosses, but it’s always good to have!

Next is the La Vendetta, which continues to be one of the smoothest Technique weapons added in Overture. Its moveset is fast, stylish, and easy to adapt to.
While the weapon may not dominate boss fights quite as hard as the S-tier options, it does offer excellent consistency and remains a reliable pick throughout the DLC.
Then there’s the Maniac’s Pinwheel which has gained more appreciation over time thanks to its stagger potential and crowd control. The weapon absolutely shines in Motivity builds and can melt larger enemies once players learn how to manage its slower startup animations.
Its spinning attacks also work surprisingly well against clustered enemies in later DLC zones.

Lastly, we have the Lorenzini Bolt which remains one of the better elemental-oriented weapons in the expansion. It does struggle slightly against faster bosses, but against puppets and mechanically weak enemies, it has impressive damage output.
B Tier

In the B tier, we have the Puppet of the Future’s Welder. At launch, a lot of players ranked this weapon higher simply because of its raw damage. However, its weaknesses became more apparent over time.
The Welder hits extremely hard, but its slow recovery animations make certain DLC bosses difficult to manage safely. In NG+, where enemies become more aggressive, the weapon can sometimes feel too slow.
Still, if you’re the type of player who enjoys heavy Motivity weapons, you’ll likely have fun with it.
Another B tier weapon is Arche’s Guardian, which is a solid pick but never truly exceptional. Its defensive utility and stagger capability are respectable. Unfortunately, it lacks the explosive strengths that define the higher-tier DLC weapons.
It performs adequately in most situations without ever becoming a standout option.
C Tier

There’s only one DLC weapon that I’m ranking in C Tier, and it’s the Silent Evangelists’ Mace. Unfortunately, it remains the weakest overall DLC weapon despite having decent base damage.
Its sluggish attacks and awkward pacing make it difficult to justify over stronger Motivity alternatives. While the acid effects can occasionally help in specific encounters, most players will find better results with faster or more versatile weapons.
It is still usable, but compared to the rest of the DLC lineup, it simply feels outclassed.
Even after several patches and balance adjustments, Overture’s weapon lineup remains one of the DLC’s strongest features. It’s worth noting that nearly every DLC weapon can still be a solid choice with the right build. It’s just that some would require more effort, even patience, compared to others.
Nonetheless, that’s the end of our Lies of P: Overture DLC weapon tier list. Eager to get your hands on all of these fun weapons yourself? Well, check out our guide on the locations of all new weapons and Legion Arms!
