Lies of P: Overture is a DLC that also acts as a prequel to the hit soulslike that came out two years ago. With the release of the DLC comes a lot of new content, including various secrets, zones, quests, and of course, a set of bosses to beat. In this guide, we will go over how you can quickly defeat the Two Faced Overseer boss, which is one that might give you trouble at first, until you learn how to exploit its weaknesses.
Lies of P Overture – Two Faced Overseer Boss Weaknesses
Before you start the fight, make sure that you have the necessary gear equipped for the fight. In this case, you are going to want to have the Puppet String legion arm equipped. This thing will help you move around and match the boss’ aggressiveness.
Also, prior to going to the boss area, you can get a Daylight Wreathed Horn that is impossible to miss along the way unless you purposefully ignore it. Blowing it prior to the fight will summon an ally NPC called TheTracker to help you out.
Use this temporary ally as a meat shield and make sure that you are not sticking too close to each other, as the boss has fairly wide swings that can hit both of you at the same time.
If done correctly, you can play hot potato with the boss’ aggro and get through the fight relatively unscathed. You will want to spread out while maintaining the pressure so that your ally does not fall.
The boss is extremely easy, especially with the legion arm selected for this fight. Simply spam it as much as you can and try your best to avoid its wide swings as you ramp up the damage.
The only thing to watch out for is if its head starts glowing red, which signifies that it is currently enraged and will be a little more aggressive compared to before. When this happens, its attacks will also be a lot more dangerous in terms of damage, so be ready to block when it does that.
This enraged mode does not stop after a set amount of time, and the only way to stop it is by maintaining the pressure and continuing to attack it until it calms down. You can use certain moves to stagger it while this is happening, but you can also just continue with your original strategy of spamming puppet string.
It should be noted that this enraged form happens more than once throughout the fight, so always stay vigilant and be ready for it even after calming it down the first time around.
The boss will occasionally kneel down after taking a lot of damage, and you can take this opportunity to deal a ton of free damage to it. There is no catch to this, so when he enters that staggered state, make sure to slap it as hard as you can.
And that is pretty much all there is to this boss fight. It is an extremely simple one that you can beat even without any external help, as the fight itself barely has anything notable in it outside of the rage mechanic.
