The Lies of P: Overture DLC has a total of new 8 gesture emotes you can pick up at various locations, collect them all to get the “To Be Human” trophy. Obtaining these gestures works fairly similar to how it does in the base game. Some of them are from reading documents, others are from quests, that sort of thing. In this guide, we’ll tell you how to find each one of these 8 new gestures!

Shiver

Freezing To Death | Lies of P Overture: All Gesture Locations - To Be Human Trophy Guide

For the first gesture on this list, you’ll have to do something simple: die! No, seriously. Find any enemy that applies the Freeze status effect and let them apply it on you, then die while the effect is still active. You’ll get the Shiver gesture as soon as you respawn at the last Stargazer you rested at.

Enemies that apply Freeze are plentiful in Overture, as well. For example, the elephant miniboss in Overture Chapter 1 can inflict it. The legless puppets in the Zelator Underground Facility are also good at inflicting it, as their ice breath builds it up very fast.

Play Dead

The second gesture we’ll get is another really easy one. Look behind the mammoth statue by the Hall of Adventure Stargazer and you should see an item on the ground. Pick it up to receive the “Discover Wildlife: Bears!” book. Read it fully in your inventory and you’ll automatically get the Play Dead gesture.

Tap Dance

This one is tied to the Carnival Coins activity, which we have covered fully in its dedicated guide. Nonetheless, to get this gesture, first start from the Carnival Garden Stargazer. From there, enter the carnival grounds by going through the main gate.

As soon as you are inside the carnival, turn to your left and you should see a pillar-like structure. Interact with the dead white-and-blue puppet in front of that structure to collect the first coin. That’s 1 out of 4 and it took no time at all!

Right after collecting the first Carnival Coin, go past the same pillar structure and enter the open yellow house nearby.

Approach the puppet theater wagon in the corner of the house. It will be directly opposite of the entrance. Insert the Carnival Coin into the wagon to start the show. Watch the full show and you’ll automatically receive the “Tap Dance” Gesture as a reward.

Cheer

After you’ve obtained Tap Dance, go toward the carousel inside of the carnival. To get there, you just need to go straight ahead into the carnival from the Carnival Garden Stargazer.

Once you’re close to the carousel, turn to your left to find a wooden platform you can use to drop down to a lower section. Jump down with glee!

After dropping down, run past the merchant there and go into the red and white tent.

The moment you enter the tent, you should hear a nearby clown puppet telling you to step on the stage and do your best.

Walk up to the puppet and use the Tap Dance gesture in front of it. You’ll automatically receive the Cheer gesture after finishing the dance! Plus, the compartment under the puppet will open to reward you with the Strategist’s Amulet. It’s a 2-for-1 deal!

It’s worth noting you can also give a Carnival Coin to this clown puppet if you have one. It will reward you with a Full Moonstone of the Covenant.

Doubt

Nightmare Start | Lies Of P: Overture - All Record Locations - Memory's Melody Trophy

Next up on our list of all gesture locations for the “To Be Human” trophy in Lies of P: Overture, this one requires you to progress through a side-quest. More specifically, you need to find and talk with all 3 Crusher Puppets throughout Overture Chapter 3.

To start, proceed as normal through the Ancient Ruins Excavation Site in Overture Chapter 3. At one point you’ll cross a wooden bridge going down, take a left when you do.

Crusher 1

As soon as you enter the cave there, you’ll hear a robotic voice talking to you. Look around the room to find a Crusher Puppet and talk to it to start the quest properly.

Crusher 2

Next up, continue through Overture Chapter 3 until you reach the Ergo Mining Site Stargazer. You’ll need to use a moving platform to proceed through the level there. Once you use it, go down the path to the right to hear the Crusher Puppet calling for you again.

Crusher 3

Go past the crates and follow the tracks going up to reach the puppet.

Second Crusher Puppet | Lies Of P: Overture - All Record Locations - Memory's Melody Trophy

Talk to the Crusher Puppet once again.

Crusher 5

After talking, take the exit next to the Crusher Puppet to return to the main path of the level.

Crusher 6

Once you drop down from the cave, turn to your right and follow the path across the short wooden bridge.

Crusher 7

This will lead you to a second, much longer wooden bridge. Run across the bridge to reach the next cave section.

Third Crusher Puppet | Lies Of P: Overture - All Record Locations

As soon as you enter that cave, you’ll hear a Crusher Puppet calling you out to your left. Talk with it and listen to all that it has to say. You’ll get the Doubt gesture as soon as you finish talking to the third Crusher Puppet.

Heart

You can get this gesture by going to the Pistris Harbor Stargazer in Overture Chapter 3. However, you will need to have found Rosaura’s shoes and given them to her first. If you’ve done that, Rosaura will be sitting near the Stargazer asking for Ergo. Simply give any Ergo consumable to her and she will thank you, rewarding you with the Heart gesture, amongst other special items.

Deep Bow

You can find this gesture by reading a certain item found in the Archon Fleet Shipwrecks area of Overture Chapter 4. Start from the Archon Fleet Shipwrecks Stargazer and continue through the normal main path until you reach the second shipwreck.

As soon as you head inside, turn to your left instead of going down the stairs.

You’ll reach a ladder that has an item glow near it. Pick up the item to get the “Correspondence from Beyond the Sea” document. Fully read this document in your inventory and you’ll automatically learn the Deep Bow gesture.

Peer Into Distance

The last gesture on this list is also one of the easiest ones to get. As you progress through the story, you’ll eventually reach the Krat Lighthouse in Overture Chapter 4. Once you do, just take the stairs next to the Stargazer and go all the way up to the very top of the lighthouse.

When you reach the top of the lighthouse, a short cutscene will play. You’ll automatically receive the Peer into Distance gesture as soon as the cutscene ends. That’s all there is to it!

That’s all of the gesture locations in Lies of P: Overture DLC, you will get the “To Be Human” trophy as soon as you get the final one for you.
