The Royal Highlands in Palia are packed with hidden treasure chests, but the game is not exactly helpful about where to look. You will find them tucked away on top of cliffs, inside caves, behind waterfalls, or even buried under some suspicious-looking dirt piles.
There are 16 chests scattered across the entire region, and collecting them all gets you a cool achievement and a special wall map for your house. Some are easy to spot, while others will have you jumping around like a maniac trying to reach a random ledge. In this guide, I will walk you through each one so you can grab all the loot and be quickly done with it.
Location of all the 16 Treasure Chests Found in Royal Highlands
There are a total of 16 treasure chests hidden across the Royal Highlands. Nine of them are found in the upper region and the remaining seven are in the lower region. I have marked the exact location of every single one on the maps below so you can go collect them without any guesswork.
If you are having trouble with a specific chest, scroll down and find it by number. I have included individual pictures for each one to make locating them as easy as possible.
Here are the nine chest locations in the upper region of the Royal Highlands.

And here are the seven chest locations in the lower region of the Royal Highlands.

Treasure Chest #01
The first chest is located below the underpass not too far from the Royal Hunting Grounds. Check the image below for the exact spot.

Treasure Chest #02
The second chest is tucked behind two giant boulders in the Old Fortuna area as shown in the image below.

Treasure Chest #03
The third chest is found at one of the ends of the main bridge over the Kestra River. Check the image below for the exact end to head to.

Treasure Chest #04
The fourth chest is found to the left of the “Kestra River” text on the map. It sits underneath a structure as shown in the image below.

Treasure Chest #05
The fifth chest is found in The Forum area. It is stuck inside a yellow crystal out in the open so it is fairly easy to spot once you are in the right area.

Treasure Chest #06
The sixth chest is found at the bottom of Fortuna Falls. Head all the way down to the base of the falls and you will find it there.

Treasure Chest #07
The seventh chest is located under a fallen platform-like structure sitting between Fortuna Falls and the Steps of Renova as shown in the image below.

Treasure Chest #08
The eighth chest is not far from the seventh. It is also found under a similar platform structure but this one is still standing rather than fallen as shown in the image below.

Treasure Chest #09
The ninth chest is found to the left of the letter S in “Steps of Renova” on the map. It sits on top of a platform so make sure you head up rather than looking at ground level.

Treasure Chest #10
The tenth chest is found in the Lonely Glen area sitting on the edge of a platform as shown in the image below.

Treasure Chest #11
The eleventh chest is found near the Standing Cliffs location. It is tucked away inside a stone structure so keep an eye out for it rather than just scanning the open area as shown in the image below.

Treasure Chest #12
The twelfth chest is found at the end of a series of platforms in a location not too far from Embra’s Folly as shown in the image below.

Treasure Chest #13
The thirteenth chest sits on the edge of a cliff at the bottom of the Embra’s Folly location as can be seen in the image given below.

Treasure Chest #14
Not far from the thirteenth chest, you can find the fourteenth chest near the Enfield Shores. It sits on top of a small cliff as shown in the image below.

Treasure Chest #15
To the right of the Standing Cliffs, the fifteenth chest is found underneath the giant stone bridges in the area. Check the image given below.

Treasure Chest #16
Just above the Enfield Shores, the sixteenth and final chest is found tucked under some fallen pillars as shown in the image below.

Wrapping Up
That covers every treasure chest hidden across the Royal Highlands. Some of them are tucked away in spots you would never stumble across naturally so hopefully the maps and individual images saved you a fair amount of time. It is worth grabbing all of them in one dedicated run rather than picking them off gradually since the rewards stack up nicely and several of them contain materials that are useful for early Royal Highlands progression.
Once you have cleared all the chests and are settling into the Royal Highlands properly, customizing your horse is one of the more enjoyable things to get into. Check out my Horse Customization Guide to see everything you can do with your mount.
