Artifacts in Palia’s Elderwood region are a core part of progression, especially if you’re working through relic bundles and exploration awards.
While you can technically find them randomly through exploration alone, the Artifact Tracker makes the entire process significantly more efficient by highlighting nearby dig sites on your compass.
Most of the ones you find will be from the daily rummage piles, which have varying locations. But with the Tracker, everything’s just a lot easier.
In this guide, we’ll tell you how to get and use the Artifact Tracker utility.
How to Find Artifacts With the Artifact Tracker in Palia: Elderwood

Before anything else, let’s first have a brief overview of what the Artifact Tracker is.
The Artifact Tracker is essentially a passive utility that helps you locate hidden rummage piles in Elderwood.
Once unlocked, the tracker automatically adds a compass indicator when you are within range of a dig site. You do not need to equip it or activate it manually after purchase.
Each day, Elderwood generates a limited number of rummage piles that contain an artifact, and the tracker simply makes them easier to locate, instead of you having to search for them manually.
To unlock the Artifact Tracker, go to the Central Stables in the middle of the Elderwood region. Once there, head to the Artifact Store in the southwestern part of the stables. It’s the bulletin board shown above.

Once there, simply purchase the Artifact Tracker for 1 Elouisa’s Fun Buck. Worth noting that the Artifact Tracker won’t appear in your inventory at all.
It’s instead counted as a sort of permanent passive upgrade, not an actual item.
You can get Elouisa’s Fun Bucks by giving any Artifacts you’ve already found to Elouisa in front of the bulletin board. If you’ve yet to do that, you’ll need to explore until you find a rummage pile or offer a Sacred Flower to an Umbraan Shrine.

How to Use the Artifact Tracker
As mentioned, it’s a passive utility that doesn’t require any manual activation or anything.
That said, you can tell the Artifact Tracker is working when you notice white dirt piles appear on your compass. These signal the location of nearby rummage piles, which you can loot for Artifacts.
As far as we can tell, the general detection range for these piles is around 100 meters.
Lastly, it’s worth noting that 4 rummage piles spawn per day.
One will spawn in Killima Village, another in Bahari Bay, and two in the Elderwood region. The locations are the same for every player each day, too, so you can ask others for their locations if you need help!
How to Farm Artifacts Efficiently
With the tracker, farming Artifacts should now be faster and more efficient. However, if you want to maximize your artifact collection each day, here are a few simple habits I’d recommend:
First, always check Elderwood early after the daily reset since pile locations are shared and limited.
Second, combine the tracker with full map movement rather than waiting for icons. This ensures you don’t miss Artifacts that spawn on edges.
Lastly, consider using trading opportunities at Central Stables if you are missing specific bundle pieces.
That’s all you need to know to be able to use the Artifact Tracker in the Elderwood expansion for Palia. Now you just need to go out there and start hunting down those rare Artifacts.
