The Familiar Felines Triumph in Destiny 2tasks you with finding all the Starcat locations spread around the Dreaming City, Riven’s Lair, and The Coil.
These feline collectibles are part of the Season of the Wish, and there are a total of 15 for you to find. However, one of them is an extra secret, as only 14 are required to unlock Familiar Felines!
Anyway, in this guide we’ll tell you where to find all 14 normal Starcats as well as where to find the secret 15th one.
You can find your first Starcat at the end of the Bay of Drowned Wishes Lost Sector. This Lost Sector can be accessed from the Dreaming City.
You’ll find the entrance to the Lost Sector by going to the Dreaming City and turning around. Just go right through the hole in the rocks.
Complete the Lost Sector and then go into the room with the loot chest.
The cat is resting on the ledge to the right of the chest.
Blind Well
Go across the large circular room by the entrance of the Blind Well activity in the Dreaming City.
Your goal is to approach the massive door opposite the entrance.
The Starcat is chilling at the foot of the door, so just approach it and interact with it.
Spine of Keres
First, go on a patrol at the Dreaming City and head toward the Spine of Keres. You can reach it by taking the exit to the left of your starting point in the Divalian Mists.
It’s a long path, but also a very linear one!
At the Spine of Keres, keep following the path until you reach the huge cathedral known as the Oracle Engine.
The cat is on a bench next to a Techeun on the central level of the towering cathedral.
If you need more help, the screenshot of the map above should give you an idea of its exact location.
Chamber of Starlight
Yet another Starcat within a Lost Sector, this time in the chest room of the Chamber of Starlight!
You can enter the Chamber of Starlight Lost Sector from the Rheasilvia area of the Dreaming City. It’s northeast of the Divalian Mists and north of The Strand.
The entrance is hidden by some rocks on a cliff. You can spot it easily if you stand on the nearby bridge.
Once you enter the Lost Sector, complete it until you reach the chest room at the end. Look for the elevated platform with a floating pillar, around the middle of the room.
The cat is sitting on the table, chilling and relaxing all cool.
Harbinger’s Seclude
Let’s be frank: this particular area is annoying and painful to navigate. As such, we’ll try to give you the instructions that make it easier to go through the Harbinger’s Seclude to find the cat.
So, to start, make your way to the Rheasilvia region in the Dreaming City and then drive straight through the northern exit. You’ll eventually reach the Harbinger’s Seclude.
The first large room once you enter the area will have a central pillar and a huge opening to the left, leading to a cliff.
Go to the opening on the left and look down the cliff to spot an area you can fall onto.
Jump down onto the ledge and follow the linear path, ignoring the nearby portal. You’ll eventually come into yet another massive circular room.
Take the exit that’s directly left of the central exit. Follow the arrow on the screenshot above.
You’ll enter a small room with an altar, which has a strange skull on top of it.
Look behind the altar to find this very sneaky Starcat!
The Confluence
Our starting point for this Starcat is right after grabbing the Harbinger’s Seclude Starcat. It’s the easiest way to reach it, considering how confusing the area is!
Exit the room with the altar and go straight forward, back to the cavernous path you followed before.
This time, dive right into the portal you ignored earlier. You’ll now be in some sort of church.
Go out of the aisle and then take the exit to your right, going out of the church.
Follow the path straight ahead until you reach the room with the central pillar.
Next, keep going forward up the stairs to reach The Confluence.
Go through the archway with the blue halo to your left and you will see yet another gigantic circular room. Bungie sure loves massive circular rooms, huh? Well, they do make for great arenas.
Anyway, just keep going straight ahead and reach the exit opposite the entrance, the one covered with roots darkened by the Taken’s corruption.
The Starcat is sitting in the middle of the path near the roots.
Gardens of Esila
For this cat, go to the Dreaming City and then head to The Strand region. Take the eastern exit and go toward the southwest.
Your goal is to reach the area marked on the map above, next to the flower-shaped structure on the southernmost part of the map.
Once you reach that part of the Gardens of Esila, you should spot a white bridge going over a puddle of water.
The Starcat is on a small ledge under the bridge, overlooking the water.
Aphelion’s Rest
You’ll find this Starcat at the very end of the Aphelion’s Rest Lost Sector in The Strand region of the Dreaming City.
You can access the Lost Sector from the easternmost part of The Strand, under a massive rock.
Complete the Lost Sector and reach the chest room. The room has a stone structure with a large bowl in front of it.
Look inside the bowl to find this Starcat!
Garden of Plenty
The Garden of Plenty Starcat serves as a separator from the others, in a way. This is the first cat on our list that appeared as part of the weekly story missions, in this case, the Polysemy mission.
If you missed the cat then, you’ll instead need to repeat the Riven’s Lair activity until you get to the Garden of Plenty area. Wouldn’t be Destiny 2 without some annoying RNG, right?
Either way, go straight forward once you get to the Garden of Plenty.
You’ll eventually start approaching a large circular pavilion. Right before you reach it, turn to your left.
Check the cliff to spot a ledge, which is where the Starcat is hiding.
Temple of the Queen’s Wrath
You are guaranteed to reach this temple as part of the Tautology mission, but you can also reach it randomly as part of the Riven’s Lair activity.
As soon as you enter the temple, go forward and to your right. Go past the columns and into the rightmost aisle.
Once in the aisle, turn to your right once again to spot a massive column.
The Starcat is hiding behind the column!
Gnashing Chamber
You will reach the Gnashing Chamber as part of the Enthymeme mission. If you already completed it, you can find the Gnashing Chamber randomly during either the Riven’s Lair or The Coil activities.
As soon as you enter the chamber, go forward and look to your left. You should spot a table with some floating lights.
The Starcat is sitting on the table, next to a porcelain cat. This little kitty was begging to be found, clearly!
Reaver’s Orison
You are guaranteed to reach this area as part of the Apophasis mission. Other than that, it can randomly appear during both the Riven’s Lair and The Coil activities.
As soon as you enter the room, look towards the huge door opposite the entrance. You should see a golden healthy tree to your left and a blue decaying tree to your right.
Go straight forward and to the right, approaching the dark withered tree.
The Starcat is resting by the tree’s roots, so it’s easy to spot.
Astral Cloister
You can reach this area during the Chiasmus mission. If you didn’t find it then, you can reach the Astral Cloister randomly by going through the Riven’s Lair activity.
Once you complete the objective in the Astral Cloister, the game will point you toward the exit. Face the exit portal and then look to your right.
You should see a distant platform with a massive statue.
Jump across the platforms to reach the platform with the statue, then look in front of it.
The cat is next to the orb in front of the statue, though this Starcat usually isn’t actually visible. Nonetheless, just approach the orb and you should get the interact prompt for the cat!
Cell of the Sycophant
If you’ve been following the guide in order, this will be your 14th and “final” Starcat. Interacting with this one will unlock the Familiar Felines Triumph, but there’s actually one extra secret cat after this one!
We’ll go over the secret cat later, so let’s just focus on the Cell of the Sycophant’s cat for now.
This is the last cat that was part of the weekly storyline. As we said before, you’ll be able to find it as part of the Riven’s Lair activity if you missed it during the quest line.
Once you do get to the Cell of the Sycophant, complete the objective and then you’ll be told to go through the exit portal.
Instead, face the exit and turn to your right. You’ll find the cat on the corner of the garden ledge.
As always, just interact with it to count it as “collected”.
Starcrossed (Secret Cat)
The true final Starcat is a bit of a tricky kitty, as you can only find it at the very end of the Starcrossed mission.
On top of that, you’ll need to have completed the Constellation Catalysts quests for the Wish-Keeper exotic bow. You can’t reach the cat until you do that!
Once you’ve completed the Wish-Keeper catalyst quests, you’ll need to complete the Starcrossed exotic mission.
At the very end, after claiming your reward, you’ll notice some distant floating platforms. Get your platforming skills ready and follow the singular path formed by the platforms.
You’ll find a portal at the end of the path. Go right through it to reach a new area!
In the new area, go straight forward until you reach a circular room with the Ishtar Collective’s symbol.
The Starcat is sitting in front of the symbol, just chilling there.
Interact with it and it should be the final Starcat you need if you’ve been following this guide. That said, this 15th Starcat isn’t actually required for the Familiar Felines Triumph!
Still, you couldn’t just leave the kitty alone, could you?
