The Guardian Games event returns to Destiny 2 in 2026, featuring some pretty notable changes and new loot.

In this event, you’ll get to represent your chosen Guardian class in various activities. Prove your superiority and claim Medallions, which you can cash in for hoards of loot. Available from March 24th to April 14th!

Read on and I’ll give you a crash course to help you make the most of this event.

Starting the Guardian Games Event

First things first, you can find the details of the event in-game by selecting it on the left-hand side of the Portal screen. I’ve highlighted it in the screenshot above for you.

In here, you can see a list of Daily and Weekly challenges that will rotate during the event’s duration. Completing them will reward you with Event Tokens, Event XP, and Medallions. I’ll explain Medallions more later.

As with other events, the Event XP will be used to increase your Event Rank. You can check the rewards you get from this event’s reward track on the bottom left part of the screen. Give it a look when you’re able to.

Now, for the main part of the event, you’ll want to go talk to Eva Levante in the Tower. She’ll be near the Guardian Games-themed podium, making her pretty easy to spot. It’s all quite colorful, after all!

When you first talk to Eva Levante, she’ll give you the “Best in Class” quest as well as a piece of Guardian Games gear, which depends on your class. Pay attention to Eva for this quest, as it serves as a tutorial to the Guardian Games.

Most importantly, here is the Guardian Games gear you got, however. You need to have it equipped when participating in the Guardian Games. Otherwise, you will not receive Medallions from activities.

Do note that the gear’s Armor Set can be modded, thankfully. You can set it to count as part of any Armor set, allowing you to keep Armor Set bonus perks. You might also get other Guardian Games gear as loot during the event, so you can replace it outright later.

Event Cards

The other major thing to note is that you can purchase Event Cards from Eva Levante. These are broadly categorized into two types: Contender (white) and Platinum (black).

Contender Cards cost 1000 Glimmer and are for content that’s generally a tad easier. However, they can only reward you with Gold Medallions.

Platinum Cards, on the other hand, cost 1500 Glimmer and are for more challenging content. On the upside, you can get Platinum Medallions from completing them.

When purchased, these Event Cards will give you a random objective for whichever content you choose. An Arena Contender Card will give you an objective you can only complete playing Arena, for example. It’s fairly straightforward.

For the introductory “Best in Class” quest, purchase one of these Event Cards. Eva should’ve given you enough Glimmer for that, so it’s a freebie.

Guardian Games Activities

Next up, following the “Best in Class” quest, you’ll need to participate in one of the Guardian Games’ activities. These are found in the Play Now menu on the Portal.

There are four activities this time around, so here’s a quick rundown of them all:

  • Rushdown – A boss rush featuring bosses from all of Destiny 2. Defeat 5 bosses before the timer ends to complete it, with faster clears giving better rewards. The boss selection changes daily.
  • Rush Remixed – Similar to Rushdown, this is a boss rush consisting of 5 bosses. Defeat them before time runs out, be faster for better rewards. The difference from Rushdown is that bosses are completely randomized instead of set per day.
  • Crucible: Supremacy – A 6v6 PvP mode with Class-based matchmaking. Defeat the other team and show them which Guardian class is best!

As a reward for these activities, you’ll get an assortment of loot depending on your performance. This primarily includes Guardian Games gear and Medallions.

To get more rewards, remember to talk to Zavala and Lord Shaxx in the Tower as well. You’ll need to do that as part of the “Best in Class” quest, as well.

Zavala will give you the “Shoot to Score” quest, while Lord Shaxx will give you the “Vying for Supremacy” quest. These track your weekly Guardian Games performance in Rushdown and Supremacy, respectively.

The better you do in these modes, the more rewards you’ll get! Aim for a Platinum score each week and collect your rewards from the chests by Eva Levante.

Medallions – What are They and How to Use?

Last but definitely not least, the Medallions. As I mentioned before, you’ll get these as rewards from pretty much everything you do during the Guardian Games.

Medallions come in Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum tiers. Which ones you get depends on the Event Card you completed or how you performed during a Guardian Games activity.

To use your Medallions, go to the Guardian Games podium next to Eva Levante. You’ll get the prompt to deposit your Guardian Games Medallions, as you can see in the screenshot above. You’ll need to do this once during the “Best in Class” quest, as well.

So, all you need to do is to deposit the Medallions and you’ll get some random rewards. As you can imagine, the higher the Medallion’s tier, the better the reward!

It’s also worth noting that the rewards from depositing Medallions are not necessarily going to be Guardian Games loot. While those drops are included in the loot pool, you’ll also get other general gear as loot.

Also, keep in mind that some Daily and Weekly quests rely on you depositing Medallions. Make sure to check your quests at the Guardian Games Portal!

Wrapping Up

That’s the end of this guide for the 2026 Guardian Games in Destiny 2. Overall, it’s a fairly simple event, but a pretty rewarding one.

Engage in Guardian Games activities and Event Cards to get loads of Medallions. Deposit those Medallions to get a lot of loot. At the same time, complete Daily and Weekly quests for more loot and Event Rank progression… which gets you even more loot!

Now you know everything you need to get started, so go prove which class is the best in the Guardian Games.
