With roughly an area of 225 square kilometers, it’s no secret that the Chernarus map in DayZ is huge. What’s a secret, however, are the various hidden locations that you can come across while exploring the map. Most of them are perfect for use as base building spots while some offer secrets and easter eggs you didn’t expect in the first place.

That said, let’s have a look at some of the best hidden locations you can find in Chernarus.

Chernarus Map Best Hidden Locations You Should Know About in DayZ

The map is huge, so we’re not going to cover all of the hidden locations throughout the area. Instead, we’ll just have a look at some of the best ones so far. They’re as follows:

Shipwreck

Located eight kilometers to the southern part of the map, the shipwreck is one that’s barely visited by players. As such, it makes for the perfect spot to hide some of your items inside a sea chest.

Phil’s Grave

Just a short distance from the shipwreck, this tiny grave is a tribute to Phil, a former DayZ player who unfortunately died due to an accident. This was originally a helicopter crash site, but the developers decided to make this spot a way of commemorating one of DayZ’s first players.

Poisonantler’s Bench

Another location designed to commemorate a DayZ player, this one is for Jen who is also known for her streamer name, Poisonantler. This one is located on a hill with a radio tower on the top.

Paradise Rock

Next is Paradise Rock, a small island with a small forest inside of it. You can find this area between the mainland and the Skalisty island. As such, its location makes it perfect for hiding stashes and even building a tiny base.

Since there are no loot spawns in this area, it’s barely visited by other players as well.

Radio Station

While the location is not so secret itself, there’s actually a vent inside that’s particularly hard to access. The only means of accessing it is by either using a watchtower, a truck, or a boost from another player. This small vent is perfect for hiding stashes or even ambushing players without them even knowing.

Witch Ring

The last hidden location in the list is Witch Ring, which features a stone circle as well as a pile of sticks in the middle. What makes this interesting, and somewhat creepy, is the fact that the pile of sticks resembles a person. It’s for this reason why this location has such a name.
