The Old Trunk is a locked chest that can be found in the Zaralek Cavern.

However, the key is pretty well hidden. In fact, someone has made off with it and you will have to hunt them down to recover it!

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to find the key for this specific chest.

To open the old trunk, you will need to find its key. The method to get it is rather sneaky, so we don’t blame you if you had trouble with it!

You need to find and chase the Thieving Rock Mouse. It will run away and hide each time you interact with it, but the fifth time you find it will give you the old trunk key.

You can use this target macro command to make it easier to spot: /tar Thieving Rock Mouse

The first spot for this sneaky mouse is right next to the old trunk. It’s atop the mount where the miner is, the coordinates are 43.00, 82.54.

Next, turn around from the cart with the chest and go up the slope. Keep going until you find some stone doors and look for a jar. The mouse is inside, the coordinates are 42.14, 80.19.

Chase it down the slope and it will hide behind a table at 41.73, 81.37. Quite an easy find here!

Go back to the cart with the old trunk and look for a cart with some grains inside, the mouse is resting on top. The coordinates are 42.83, 82.20.

Only one left! Use your dragon to fly around the rock formation close to the trunk chest. You should spot a ledge with a door, the mouse will be right outside. The coordinates for this spot are 43.72, 83.85.

With all that done, you should now have the Old Trunk Key! Just go back to the chest and you’ll be able to open it, claiming your well-deserved reward.
