How to Upgrade Plague  Weapons and Unlock Buffs in Thymesia

Every weapon starts with either one or two buffs depending on the weapon. Get their effects, you must meet the minimum stat attribute to unlock its passive.

For example, the image above of the plague weapon tab shows the weapon on the left, and on the top right side, it shows an icon and Strength followed by the effect of the buff below it.

For you to unlock the first buff, you must have a minimum of 10 strength for you to break enemy super armour.

Upgrading plague weapons require you to have the corresponding weapon shard of that weapon. Depending on the type of weapon you want to upgrade, would also reflect how many weapon shards you would need to fully upgrade that weapon.

Weapon shards can be collected by stealing the weapon from enemies using your Raven Claw and for certain enemies, killing them outright drops weapon shards for the type of weapons they are carrying.

When a weapon is fully maxed out, they unlock extended actions, these are specific moves for your weapon that deals a good deal of damage.

Unlocking Extended actions at Level 4

for this is the hand axe on the top image. Its basic enhancements grant you energy reduction when using this weapon. At level 4 it unlocks the weapon’s extended action Flying Axe where you throw your axe at the enemy and deal physical as well as bleed damage over time.

When unlocking it to level 5 it gives you damage buffs and at max level, boosts your attack and extended attack damage and gives you another buff. In this case, it reduces damage intake by 25% when casting and you can activate these if you have a minimum of 10 vitality points.

One thing you should be aware of is out of the 21 plague weapons in the game, 14 can be unlocked by Reaving or stealing them from enemies through your raven claw and the remaining 7 can only be obtained by killing the different bosses in the game.
