You will eventually be tasked with finding and activating 3 different mechanisms during the “The Stars Are Cold Toys” quest in Honkai: Star Rail.
You will need to control a massive cog to get access to different parts of the city, which is where you will find these mechanisms.
In this guide, we’ll tell you how to complete this objective with ease.
How to Solve the “Activate All Mechanisms” Puzzle in Honkai: Star Rail
As previously mentioned, this is part of the “The Stars Are Cold Toys” quest. You will get this objective after you catch up with Bronya and Cocolia.
The first mechanism is found pretty easily once you get the objective. Just follow the quest track until you go over a large cog off the eastern side of the cog. You will find the mechanism in front of you.
Mechanisms are large metallic balls with some tubes protruding out of them. Just approach them and interact with them to activate them.
Turn around to face the cog after you activate the first mechanism. Look for a small ball next to the cog; interact with it to turn the cog. Turn it counterclockwise once.
Walk over the cog and head north to reach a new part of the city. Follow the linear path and you will find the second mechanism guarded by an enemy.
Take them out and activate the mechanism!
Go right off the device to find a locked gate. Just use the controller next to it to open it. You’re back where the first mechanism was!
Use the cog’s controller and turn it counterclockwise once again. Now, turn around and go back through the gate you just opened, following the path until you’re on top of the cog again, then just head west.
You will find the third and final mechanism where the cog connects to the city. This time, it’s guarded by another enemy. Just kill it and interact with the mechanism as you’ve done before.
The door with the 4 locks should now open, allowing you to continue the quest.
