A Plague Tale: Requiem is the long-awaited sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence. In this game we will follow siblings Amicia and Hugo as they make their way through Southern France, fighting both soldiers of the inquisition and rats spreading the black plague.

One of the new things to the game that differentiates it from the sequel is that Amicia now has more tools at her disposal, as such, we can expect harder puzzles and trickier segments to advance through in many areas.

One such segment is in Chapter 11, the Cradle of Centuries. In this guide, we will show you the steps to advance.

Remove the Beam from the Cart

During Chapter 11 you will reach this location. As the game visuals and sound will tell you through Hugo’s screams, the place will be overrun with rats.

As it is overrun with rats you cannot step into the shadows or you will be murdered, and there is no apparent way through.

Move your camera around to look for the fire that appears in the image and use your prism to illuminate it while you move and reach the flame.

North of that fire you will find a box that has +2 Alcohol on the ground, +1 Bolt, and a chest with +1 Resin, +1 Sulphur, and +5 Pieces. Go back to the fire and east of and close to it is a cart that can help you get through, but it’s blocked by a beam.

If you are facing the cart, look to your left and switch to your crossbow with an igniter bolt. Shoot it to the piece of wood there to create a light source.

Now that there is light around that place the rats will not approach: turn back to the cart and ask Sophia to use her prism, walking back towards the wood you just shot.

Next to it, there is a beam you can interact with. Pick it up and shoot the crossbow (with the rope) to the beam.

Amicia will pull on the rope now that it is stuck to the beam, moving it out of the way. The cart will fall, the light of its flame pushing the rats away.

Chase quickly after the cart to stay within its light range. It will eventually crash and stop, point at which you can push it manually to avoid danger.
