Zenless Zone Zero: Icedrift Hollow Surface Guide

The event called Watch Your Step is officially underway in Zenless Zone Zero. And like most events of this game, it is offering a lot of rewards. To get these rewards, you need to complete the Icedrift Hollow Commissions which have two modes: Easy and Hard.

Being day 1 of the event, only Icedrift Hollow: Surface – First Visit is made available to the players. The other 4 Icedrift Hollow Commissions will be made available on their respective days. In this guide, I will show you how to complete Surface – First Visit both in Easy and Hard mode.

Icedrift Hollow: Surface – First Visit (Easy + Hard)

The tricky part about those Icedrift Hollow Commissions are the Fissure blocks. Walking over a Fissure block two times will take you to the previous floor (this is where the event name Watch Your Step comes from). So I suggest you carefully follow the walkthrough I have given below to get all the rewards and complete the Commission in no time.

Easy Mode

When you enter the Commission, you will get a bunch of dialogues from Securityboo and once those are over, you will be free to move within the Hollow. Simply move towards the right and then go to the bottom as shown below. You will be taken to the 2nd floor.

On the 2nd floor, move towards the left and then one step upward to get the purple chest.

After getting the purple chest, move one step downward and you will fall to the 1st floor.

Now on the first floor, move one step upward to grab the Purple Chest and then make your way towards the right to get to the 2nd floor again.

On the 2nd floor, move upwards and get all the 3 Denny Coins by following the path I have marked in the image below. At the end of this path, you will be taken to the 3rd floor.

When you get to the 3rd floor, take the path I have given below to grab the 2 two Purple Chests and 2 Denny Coins.

Once you are done with that, move 2 steps downward and then 2 steps towards the left to grab both Denny Coins. After that, move 2 steps downward to get the Golden Chest and then proceed towards the end by taking two steps towards the right.

You will be taken to a battle in which you will have to fight a couple of mobs. I found the fight pretty easy and I was using Level 40 Agents. But I believe the fight should still be easy even with lower level Agents. Once you are done with the fight, the Commission will be completed.

Hard Mode

After completing this Commission on Easy mode, you will unlock its Hard mode. The difficulty is shown on the top right side of your screen. Change the difficulty to Hard mode and then click on the Commission again. This time, your task is to collect the 5 HIA Data Sample.

At the start, collect all 3 Denny Coins and then proceed towards the 2nd floor. You can take the path shown below.

Once you get to the 2nd floor, collect the 3 Denny Coins and then go to the 3rd floor. Since there are Fissure blocks on this floor, take the path I have marked in the image below.

When you reach the 3rd floor, move one step downward to get the Denny Coin and then move two steps towards the right. After that move one step downward to get the second Denny Coin and then simply move towards the left to get the last Denny Coin. Then fall to the 2nd floor by moving two steps upward.

Halfway to competition

Now on the 2nd floor, move one step downward to get the 1st HIA Data Sample. And then move one step downward again to fall to the 1st floor.

When you fall to the first floor, you will automatically land on the 2nd HIA Data Sample. Now simply move downwards to reach the 2nd floor.

On the 2nd floor, grab the 3rd HIA Data Sample by moving one step upward. After that move one step downward and then one step towards the right to reach the 3rd floor.

Now on the 3rd floor, move towards the right to collect the 4th and 5th HIA Data Sample and also finish the Commission. Just like the Easy mode, you will be required to clear a battle against a couple of mobs. They are pretty easy to beat. Once you are done with them, your Commission will be marked completed and you will get the corresponding event rewards.
