Zenless Zone Zero: FAST Level 1-20 Progression Guide | F2P & No Refills

To unlock various new features in Zenless Zone Zero, you will need to level up your proxy. And there are multiple ways to go around getting XP for that.

In this short guide, I will lay down a path for you to follow and give you some pointers that will help you reach level 20 as fast as possible. While also keeping it free-to-play friendly meaning you won’t have to worry about refilling your energy.

Fastest F2P Method To Reach Level 20

Let’s first get started with how you unlock the gacha system and what you need to do to get to proxy level 10 from the start of the game.

Reaching Level 10

When you start playing the game, it will take you about 20 minutes to unlock the gacha system of this game. This is the moment where you can try summoning (signal searching) for S-Rank agents. And further playing the story mode for up to 50 minutes will enable you to do 50 standard banner pulls.

If you are satisfied with the agents you got then that is good. But if not, then this is the point where you have to decide if you wish to continue with this account or re-roll.

If you decide to continue, then play the story mode for around 2 hours and you will be able to reach proxy level 10.

Tip: If you want to get this done even faster then you can skip the story cutscenes. You will be able to re-watch them later.

Level 10 to Level 15

Once you reach proxy level 10, you will unlock the VR device through which you can spend your energy.

In the Combat Simulation part of the VR device, you can start simulation missions to get various materials by using energy. What you goal here needs to be is to level up your agents to 10 by getting materials for it through Combat Simulation.

Be careful not to spend all your energy as you will be able to get more rewards after reaching proxy level 20. For this I suggest only selecting one enemy in the simulation missions.

Also do not forget to collect all the different rewards you get from events, commissions, quests, etc. Wherever you see a red icon, it means you can collect something there.

Promoting Agent & Upgrading Weapons

Once you have leveled up your agents to 10, you will need to promote them. You can get the promotion materials from the Combat Simulation as well. Other than this, you also need to upgrade your W-Engine as it makes a significant difference (you get its upgrade materials from Combat Simulation as well).

So your goal at this point should be getting your main team to level 20 and also upgrading the W-Engines to level 20 as well while also playing the story mode.

Important Tip: Do not forget to drink coffee from the coffee shop every day. It will give you energy and also increase the rewards you get from Combat Simulation. Also read our article on what mistakes to avoid as a new player in ZZZ!

Level 15 to Level 20

At proxy level 15, you need to start focusing on the side quests as well. They are represented by a blue icon underneath your story quests. And also complete your daily errands.

Hollow Zero Event

Once you get to proxy level 16, you will unlock additional content in the Hollow Zero event. Keep playing this event and you will be able to reach proxy level 20. You will also unlock Bangboo during this which are very helpful.

Finishing the Qualification Assessments will get you to proxy level 20. And make sure to take advantage of the fast forward button to get it done faster.
