XDefiant: How to Unlock SVD Weapon

The SVD sniper rifle in XDefiant is pretty much the jack-of-all-trades sniper rifle. Besides having the normal long-range ability associated with snipers, the SVD is also pretty useful for players who like to play a bit aggressively.

The weapon has a respectable fire rate and can kill enemies in 2-3 shots at most ranges, not as effective as something like the TAC-50, but still very decent. On top of that, it is also pretty easy to use as the recoil is very manageable. To take the weapon into combat though, you will first need to unlock it.

How to Unlock SVD Weapon

You can unlock the SVD rifle in XDefiant by getting 15 long shot kills with marksman rifles. All the weapons in the marksman class are very good at long ranges, making this challenge a bit easier to complete.

Like a lot of other challenges in XDefiant, you can complete this challenge across multiple games. This makes it much easier for players looking to complete this challenge, as players farming for long shots might not get the highest kills per game.

Best Way to Get Longshots

When compared to a lot of other FPS games on the market right now, XDefiant is pretty fast-paced. The gameplay is overall pretty short ranged and getting long shots reliably might be tricky for some people.

The biggest obstacle in getting long shots will be your opponent’s ability to get to cover and heal up while you are shooting them. So how do you work around this? Well, the best thing to counter this is to play objective-based game modes like domination. These modes force people to play within certain areas, making it easier to get long shots.

Each map in XDefiant also feels very different. Some maps are better suited for long range combat, making it much easier to get a good amount of long shots. Of course, you can’t control which map you play in this game. On some smaller maps, it might be best not to trouble yourself with the long shots challenge and play something else.
