In terms of pure firepower, the Double Barrel in XDefiant is for sure up there. Not only does it have the highest damage for any shotgun in the game, it also has the longest range. For any shotgun fans out there, the Double Barrel is a must have.
The Double Barrel shotgun is one of the best guns to master in the game. To do that though, you must first unlock it. We will be looking at how you can unlock the Double Barrel shotgun in XDefiant.
How to Unlock Double Barrel Weapon
You can unlock the Double Barrel shotgun by getting 10 hipfire kills using shotguns. Hipfire kills in XDefiant are kills you perform without aiming down the sights. This challenge is pretty similar to the challenge you need to complete in order to unlock the P90. If you haven’t already unlocked the P90, check out our article onhow to unlock the P90.
The challenge to unlock the Double Barrel is quite easy compared to how strong the gun is. Most players will naturally use shotguns without aiming down the sights. Other than that it is just 10 kills, which in a game like XDefiant shouldn’t take you long at all to get.
You can complete the challenge using either the M870 or the AA-12. All players have the M870 unlocked by default. So if you don’t have the AA-12 yet, the M870 is still going to be there.
Leveling up the Weapon
Once you unlock the Double Barrel, you can equip it to any of your custom loadouts and start leveling up the gun. By simply playing with the gun, you will get XP that will let you increase your weapon level. As you level up the gun, you unlock new attachments for it that make it even better.
Other than that the Double Barrel also takes some getting used to. The weapon has a very low ammo count of 14 and can only hold 2 shells at a time. Getting familiar with the gun is worth it though, as the gun in the right hands is a force to be reckoned with.
