“Wish Upon the Moon 2: The Elder’s Promise” is one of the many new quests you can do in Wuthering Waves 1.2 as part of the “By Moon’s Grace” event.
Similar to the previous quest in the questline, you’ll need to decipher a Wish Tag. Upon doing so, you’ll learn about an elderly lady who seems to be mourning the passing of her son. Help her overcome her despair to grant her wish!
In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know to help out this lady and complete the “Wish Upon the Moon 2: The Elder’s Promise” quest.
Wish Upon the Moon 2: The Elder’s Promise | Wuthering Waves Guide
You can start “Wish Upon the Moon 2: The Elder’s Promise” in Wuthering Waves once you complete the preceding quest, “Wish Upon the Moon 1: Cry of the Soul.”You’ll also need to build the Fan Drawing Stalland Moon Shooter Stall at Taoyuan Vale.
With those prerequisites met, you’ll need to talk to Patty at the Moontree Lodge in Taoyuan Vale.
Once again, you’ll need to decode a corrupted Wish Tag by solving a puzzle. It’s the same as in the previous quest, just connect the squares of the same color together. You can see the solved puzzle in the image above.
After solving the puzzle, you’ll get to read Heying’s Wish. Heying seems to be an elderly lady mourning her son, and wondering if she should “go with him”. Her conflict seems to worry Xiangli Yao as usual, so he tasks you with finding and helping the old lady.
To find the elderly lady, travel to Yeming Slide in Huanglong.
Then, go to the wooden balcony southwest of the Resonance Beacon. Speak to Heying there to learn more about her son and the source of her despair. It seems she used to enjoy the Moon-Chasing Festival with her son, so Xiangli Yao convinces you to take her to Taoyuan Vale.
Enjoying the Festival with Heying
You’ll be taken back to Taoyuan Vale after the conversation with Heying. Your next task is to just go up the stairs and follow her to Yumyum Haven. A short scene will play with Heying commenting on how lively the festival is.
Next, go further east in Taoyuan Vale and take Heying to the Fan Drawing Stall. Heying will be captivated by the quality of the fans at the festival!
Lastly, go to the western part of Taoyuan Vale to take Heying to the Moon Shooter Stall. She’ll reminisce, thinking about how good her son used to be at the Moon Shooter. Sounds like playing the Moon Shooter yourself would be a great way to lift her spirits, right?
Interact with the Moon Shooter whenever you’re ready to start a short minigame.
Three targets will spawn near the Moon Shooter. You can shoot at them by pressing or holding down the Basic Attack button. They don’t move and you have unlimited ammo, so it should be easy to take them down quickly.
A short scene will play where you give the prizes from the Moon Shooter to Heying. These prizes are more important than you might have assumed… watch the cutscene to see how things play out and the quest will be completed!
That’s all you need to do to complete the “Wish Upon the Moon 2: The Elder’s Promise” quest in Wuthering Waves. It’s always nice to help your elders, right?
