Wuthering Waves: Unlock the Gate with the Key Guide | From The Echoes Of Destruction

You’ll need to make good use of portals and Data Walls in order to unlock the gate with a key as part of the “From the Echoes of Destruction” quest in Wuthering Waves.

To begin with, the key isn’t even reachable! It’s behind some barricade that won’t let you pass. To make matters worse, the slot where you need to insert the key is also out of reach. However, you conveniently have the ability to place portals to work around all these pesky barriers!

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to get the key in “From the Echoes of DestructioN” and how to use it to unlock the gate that blocks your progress.

Unlock the Gate with the Key | From The Echoes Of Destruction Quest Guide

The trickiest part of the “Unlock the Gate with the Key” objective in the “From the Echoes of Destruction” quest in Wuthering Waves is reaching the key itself. To start, you’ll need to shoot a portal into the Data Wall next to the key. Remember, you can shoot portals through barricades!

Once you’ve done that, go up the stairs to the second floor.

Once on the second floor, make sure to press the Portal Change button. It’s the button with two circular arrows in the bottom right of the screen. This should change your crosshair’s color, make sure to set it so it differs from the first portal’s color. For example, set it to blue if the portal you set before was yellow.

Next, fire the second portal into the Data Wall in the center of the second floor. Go through it as soon as you place it.

You’ll now be inside the barricaded room, next to the key. Pick the key up and the barricades will disappear. Take the key to the second floor as soon as the way is clear and drop it on the floor for now.

Throw the Key Through the Portals

Now, you’ll need to place two portals on the second floor. One should be in the central Data Wall outside the barricade and the other should be on the rightmost Data Wall behind the barricade. It should look like the example above. Just remember to use the Portal Change button so you can place both portals!

With that all set, grab the key back up. Aim it at the central portal so that it’s set to land on the triangular slot, like in the image above.

Once you’ve aimed it right, throw the key through the portal and into the triangular slot. The key will activate the device, which will unlock the gate for you and let you proceed with the “From the Echoes of Destruction” quest in Wuthering Waves!
