Wuthering Waves just released another substantial update that came with a lot of new content, including the region of Rinascita and an event related to it. Traces of Tides is a multi-part event in which there are various things you have to do in order to fully complete it. In this guide, we will be going over the steps you need to complete the Traces of Tides VIII step.
Traces of Tides VIII | Rinascita Event
In order to complete the Traces of Tides VIII part of the new event, you will first need to find the Lifer’s game. To do this, you must first head over to the Oakheart Highcourt, which can be found at the Fagaceae Peninsula at the far east of the region.
Once you reach the Oakheart Highcourt, just navigate through the maze to reach the center point, where you will meet a mysterious NPC. Skip the maze and just hop over the walls if you can to save some time.
Before you start the Lifer’s game, you should know that you can significantly weaken it first by completing a puzzle. Run to the quest marker in the room to “Start the game”. When the statue “puzzle” starts, follow these steps to open a certain set of doors:
Step #1 – Move the center piece to the north.
Step #2 – Move the south piece to the southwest.
Step #3 – Move the east piece to the southeast.
Just in case you are still confused, here is a visual aid for each step:
In the rooms that open, you will find coins called Stakes of Imbalance. You can use these at terminals that are also found in some of these rooms, and you can find them by using your sensor to reveal lines of energy that lead to them.
With the doors we opened, you will be able to enter rooms that contain one terminal and one stake each. Enter each room and use the stakes on the terminals in order to remove two of the Lifer’s buffs. After that, head back to the main room and use the statue puzzle again.
Here, you will need to open another set of doors. From the previous setup, do not reset. Instead, move the following pieces:
Step #1 – Move the southeast piece back to the east.
Step #2 – Move the southwest piece to the center.
Again, here is a visual aid to help you with that:
This will open yet another door with a terminal and stake inside. Clear out the enemies inside, if any, and then deactivate one more of the Lifer’s buffs by inserting the coin into the machine.
After you are done with this step, you need to go back to the statue puzzle one last time. For this final one, this is what you need to do:
Step #1 – RESET the puzzle by pressing the button on the lower right corner of the screen.
Step #2 – Move the center piece to the northwest. That is literally the only move you need to do, so no need for visuals!
Once you do that, go inside the door that opened and, as with the others, insert the stake into the terminal to shut off the last buff of the Lifer. When you have completed that final step, go back to the statue puzzle one last time.
Instead of choosing “Start the game”, pick the option to “Fight it out!” The enemy strength should now be at 100%, which is a massive difference compared to the 300% it starts out at. Be ready for a fight, because you will need to face a boss once you pick this option!
The fight itself is fairly straightforward. Chop Chop has very slow and heavily telegraphed moves that you can easily avoid, so just make sure that you have a strong team to take it down as quickly as possible. Once you are done, open the chest at the middle of the room to finish this quest!
That is all there is to it. Traces of Tides VIII should now be completed once you have opened the chest. When you are done, there will be one last Trace of Tides step left if you have been doing them in order, as the entire collection has 9 parts to it.
