“Skyward Voyage” is a side quest you can do as you explore the Rinascita region in Wuthering Waves.

You’ll meet up with an old captain who wishes to set out on one last voyage. The thing is, he doesn’t really have a way to propel his gondola as is. It’s up to you and your Echoes to help him out!

In this guide, we’ll take you through every step of completing the “Skyward Voyage” side quest in Wuthering Waves.

Skyward Voyage Quest Guide | Wuthering Waves

Before you start this quest, we recommend that you get the Cuddle Wuddle and Fae Ignis Echoes. You just need to defeat these enemy types while exploring to be able to get their Echoes, much like other Echoes. Both of them spawn all over the Rinascita region, so we recommend using your Guidebook in-game to hunt them down.

Aside from both of those Echoes, you also need to have completed the “Silver-Haried Echo Trainer” side quest in Jianzhou City. It unlocks the Projector Utility, which is required for this quest.

Once you have both the Cuddle Wuddle and Fae Ignis Echoes, head to the settlement southwest of the Garden of the Lost in the Thessaleo Falls area. It’s near Twin Peaks, as well. You’ll find “Old Captain” Davide there. Talk to him to start the “Skyward Voyage” side quest in Wuthering Waves.

Preparing for Davide’s Voyage

Davide is preparing for one last voyage, and he needs your help to do it. First, he wants you to show him a Cuddle Wuddle. This is why we told you to get one earlier!

To show him the Cuddle Wuddle, equip it as your character’s primary Echo and then use the Projector Utility. Then listen to what Davide has to say.

After the conversation, turn around from where Davide was and head northeast. Sit on the glowing chair there to trigger a cutscene and progress the quest.

Once the cutscene ends, you need to meet up with Davide once again. He ended up directly west of the Garden of the Lost.

Talk with Davide on that spot and he’ll return to his settlement near Twin Peaks. He’ll wait for you there. Yup, there’s a lot of back and forth in this quest!

Return to Davide at his settlement to continue the quest. This time he’ll ask you to show him a Fae Ignis. Just like before, equip it as your character’s primary Echo and use the Projector to show it to him. It’s the same process as for the Cuddle Wuddle before.

Finish the conversation and then turn around from Davide’s spot. Once again, go sit on the glowing chair to watch Davide’s departure on his voyage.

Sadly, things didn’t work out… again! Davide even crashed in the same spot as before, southwest of the Garden of the Lost. History repeats itself, doesn’t it? Either way, go meet up with him and talk about what happened.

Rescue the Wingray

Before Davide sets out on his third attempt at a voyage, he tells you that maybe a calm Echo like the Wingray would help. He notes that there’s a nearby camp full of Fractsidus members and that he saw a captured Wingray there. Kill two birds with one stone by stopping the Fractsidus members and rescuing that Wingray!

You can find the Fractsidus camp directly south of where Davide is after the conversation. Prepare for a battle and head there. You’ll have to defeat every single Fractsidus member within, though they shouldn’t pose too much of a challenge.

Once you defeat the Fractsidus members, approach the caged Wingray on the southern side of the camp. Use strong attacks to break down the gates and free the Wingray.

The Wingray will automatically fly over to Davide, who awaits you at the camp’s entrance. Go talk to him.

You’ll reappear at Davide’s settlement after the conversation. The third time is the charm, so go sit down on the glowing chair one last time to watch Davide’s departure. It seems that things did work out with the Wingray! More or less, at least.

Either way, that’s everything you need to know to complete the “Skyward Voyage” side quest in Wuthering Waves!

If you want a much simpler and shorter quest, check out our guide on the Dream Patrol 1 quest. Despite being short, it’s actually pretty useful as it unlocks the challenging Nightmare Echoes fights.
