Wuthering Waves recently released an update called “version 2.0”, which basically just introduces an entirely new region with all kinds of quests, puzzles, secrets, and more to uncover for various rewards. Among these rewards is the Call of the Abyss weapon, which is a 4 star weapon that you can get for absolutely free, as long as you complete a series of tasks first. Here is a quick guide on how to get it!
How to Get the Call of the Abyss Weapon for Free (Update 2.0)
To sum up the entire process, what you need to do to get the Call of the Abyss, or at least the crating recipe for it, is to first finish the entire Shadow of the Towers series of quests. This is a three part quest series, and you can complete either of the first two in any order you desire.
First is the Shadow of the Towers: Twilight Rise quest. You can start this at Thessaleo Fells, and once you start it, you will be tasked with entering the eponymous tower nearby. It is a very straightforward quest, so just follow the quest markers.
You literally cannot get lost as the instance is just an extended hallway, and on top of that, one or more greenquestmarkers will be on your screen at all times literally pointing out where and what you need to do.
At the end, you will need to defeat the Abyssal Gladius: Shadow of Twilight boss. This has no real mechanics that you need to worry about, and with a friendly NPC helping you out, you should have no issue beating it whatsoever.
Next up is the Shadow of the Towers: Resounding Rise quest, which is to the northwest of where the first quest was done. Just like the last tower, all you need to do here is follow the quest markers and fight a boss at the end.
The only difference of note is that there is a painting puzzle, in which you have to match the pictures to whatever caption is written on each pedestal in the room. Here are the solutions:
“Reaching the towers, only shadows of the Fisalia’s heir remained as he fulfilled his duty.” – Painting of a man entering through a large doorway in the center of the frame.
“Beneath these steps, the heir of Fisalia was called to serve the cause.” – Painting of a person leaning below a set of stairs.
“He traveled west into Thessaleo Fells, where the three towers of destiny loomed in the distance” – Scenic painting showing the towers in the background.
“Where do schools of fish swim?Over the tower, into the silent night sky above…” – The last painting, which is a close up of one tower with blue energy swirling around it.
Each time you insert the correct painting, its edges will briefly glow yellow, indicating that it is in the correct spot. If you do not wish to engage with the supposed riddle, just brute force it and you’ll still be done in no time. Defeat the boss inside the painting afterwards to complete the quest.
Finally, once both of the previous quests have been done in any order, you can now start Shadow of the Towers: Command Rise. Once again, follow the quest markers as usual, since these quests will just railroad you from start to finish.
Start it by going to the middle of Thessaleo Fells, at the spot highlighted in the image below. Once you enter the tower, just keep following along and be careful not to fall during any of the parkour and grapple sections, as there is no way to skip these through other means of traversal.
By the end of all the parkouring and wall running sections, you will face off with the Abyssal Patricius: Shadow of Fisalia. This final boss is nothing of note, as it is essentially just multiple instances of the same enemy types you have already defeated in the past.
Once you have completed this third and final quest of the series, you will be rewarded with the recipe for the Call of the Abyss weapon. To craft it, you will need 2x Standard Weapon Molds and 100x Fool’s Gold.
It is a four star Rectifier, so that should give you an idea of what characters can use it. The Call of the Abyss also gives the holder bonus energy regen, and it increases a character’s healing capabilities for a short period whenever they cast a resonance liberation ability. Needless to say, it is an item for supports.
That is all you need to know about the Call of the Abyss weapon, including what it does and who should be using it. While you are here, consider checking out our guide on how to unlock nightmare echoesin Wuthering Waves so that you can get even more options for your potential builds.
