“Dream Patrol: Knight in a Storm” is one of the many Dreamscape Node challenges you can do in Wuthering Waves, and a particularly annoying one.

While the fight itself isn’t too hard, the objectives for this challenge can be pretty obnoxious. The one that requires you to counter the Knight’s weapon enhancement is particularly tough. Mostly because the description doesn’t really tell you what exactly it is you need to counter!

Thankfully, you have us to help you out. Read on and we’ll tell you everything you need to complete all 3 objectives for “Dream Patrol: Knight in a Storm” in Wuthering Waves.

Dream Patrol: Knight in a Storm Guide | Wuthering Waves

You can start “Dream Patrol: Knight in a Storm” in Wuthering Waves by going to the Dreamscape Node spot marked above. It’s southwest of the Shores of Last Breath in the Fagaceae Peninsula, Rinascita. Note that you should first finish the Dream Patrol I tutorial quest and the “Where Wind Returns to Celestial Realms” side quest.

This Dream Patrol has 3 different goals you have to do to fully complete it. Just like with other Dream Patrols, remember that you don’t need to achieve all 3 goals in the same attempt. Nonetheless, they are as follows:

  • Reach Battle Rank S for more than 10 seconds – This one is pretty simple. Avoid taking damage and use a variety of skills and Resonators to increase your Battle Rank. The 10 seconds are cumulative, so you don’t need to maintain Battle Rank S for 10 consecutive seconds.
  • Perform 3 Counterattacks that interrupt the Knight’s weapon enhancement – This is the trickiest one of the lot. The Knight will sporadically buff his weapon during the fight. Counterattack him a total of 3 times after he buffs his weapon to complete this. We’ll go over this in more detail later in this guide.
  • Immobilize an enemy with Resonance Liberation DMG – To get this one, empty your enemy’s Vibration Strength bar by using a Resonance Liberation skill. Remember, that’s the white bar under the red HP bar. Save your Resonance Liberation until the Knight’s Vibration Strength is almost emptied to guarantee this one.

Aside from those goals, you also have a 3-minute timer during the fight. Make sure to be swift to defeat the Knight within the given time!

How to Counter the Knight’s Weapon Enhancement

Now, we did say that this was the trickiest one of the goals, so it deserves its own section. For this one, first wait until the Knight does the move shown above. It’ll summon 3 swords and then grab one of them. Notice that this sword has a colored glow as well, unlike his default weapon.

Once the Knight has buffed his sword, we recommend playing a bit more defensively. Dodge his regular attacks and wait for him to do a counterable attack.

Remember, you can only counter attacks that have the golden Weakness Halos, as shown above. To successfully do a counter, just time your attack with the moment the Weakness Halos overlap each other. This is a fairly late-game challenge, so you’re probably used to countering attacks by now.

As we covered our guide on how to counter Chop Chop’s laser beam, you can also try using character swaps for Counterattacks. You can instantly swap to another Resonator at any time, even while you’re attacking. The incoming Resonator’s attack can be used to land a Counterattack, even without using any Intro Skills. It’s useful in a pinch and some players find it easier to do.

Land 3 successful Counterattacks while the Knight’s weapon is still buffed and you’ll notice that the sword will lose its enhancement glow. This will also complete the goal!

That’s everything you need to know to be able to fully complete “Dream Patrol: Knight in a Storm” in Wuthering Waves. Ultimately, you’ll mostly need to be patient to land the 3 Counterattacks. Other than that, it’s not too tough.
