Wuthering Waves just released a huge new update recently, which means a lot of content was added to the game. Among these is the Traces of Tides event that you can complete within the Rinascita region, which is also a new addition. In this guide, we will be covering the “Defeat the Lifer” objective of the Traces of Tides event.
Defeat the Lifer Guide | Traces of Tides
While doing the Traces of Tides VIII step for the event, you will eventually have to defeat the Lifer by starting the game and beating the Chop Chop boss that it spawns. To do this, you just have to make your way to the Oakheart Highcourt.
This place is found at the Fagaceae Peninsula at the eastern part of Rinascita. Simply make your way to the middle of this zone by skipping over or navigating through the maze. Once here, you will find a (currently) non-hostile Chop Chop and a puzzle involving statues.
In order to defeat the Lifer, you have to pick the “Fight it out” option and beat the Chop Chop boss that is just waiting in this room. However, you might notice that the option also says that the enemy’s strength is at 300%.
This is because the Lifer has various buffs that will make it so much harder to beat. In order to get rid of them, you will need to move the statues around to open the doors and deactivate all four buffs.
We have a more detailed guide for this in our article about Traces of Tides VIII, but if you need a summary, what you need to do is use your sensor in order to figure out which doors contain terminals that are granting the Lifer these buffs.
By moving the statues around, you can open and close various doors in this room. By playing around with them, you should be able to find and deactivate each terminal, making the boss fight much easier.
The boss fight itself is very simple. Once it starts, the only things to watch out for are its slow attacks and its spinning move in which it lunges forward while dealing damage all around it. When it does the latter, just maintain your distance until it stops, or tank it out if your team is strong enough.
One thing to note is that you can actually play the game with the statues, and it is essentially like a strange version of tic-tac-toe. However, this is completely pointless as the Chop Chop will fight you regardless of who wins the game.
And that is everything you need to know to complete this one step. Once the boss has been defeated, a large chest will spawn in the middle, and opening it will complete this part of the Traces of Tides collection.
