In this short guide, I will share the professions that are currently regarded as the most efficient for goldmaking in The War Within.
Best Professions For Making Gold
You can make gold in a lot of different ways in the game but the methods and professions mentioned below are some of the best ways of doing so. I have mentioned 3 professions namely Enchanting, Inscription and Jewelcrafting. Let’s first get started with Enchanting.
Enchanting
Enchanting is a profession through which you can easily make a lot of gold. Your goal with enchanting would be to first get to a stage where level 2 enchants are guaranteed. After that, you will need to use Concentration to take these enchants to level 3.

So to make level 3 enchants, 2 rare resources must be used which means a lot of players won’t be able to get them. This is where you come in to supply the demand.
During week 1, players will be focusing on professions. So supplying Profession Tool Enchantments will be your goal here. Avoid making other enchantments at this point.
Once you get into week 2 – 3 and the Mythic+ dungeons and Heroic raids open up, you can start focusing on supplying Weapon Enchantments. One more thing, make sure to get an enchanting tool with a good Resourcefulness stat so you can make gold with some of the other enchantments as well.
Inscription
To make good gold with the Inscription profession, you will have to follow the three steps given below:
- Milling
- The first step is to make level 3 quality pigments by milling herbs.
- Inking
- The second step is to create level 3 quality ink by using the level 3 quality pigments obtained from milling.
- Reagents
- The final step is to use level 3 quality herbs and ink to make level 3 quality reagents. Then these reagents can be used by other players for various crafting purposes.
The best way to go about this is to use 3 different scribes for each of the processes. You can achieve that in the following way:
- First Scribe
- Assign to Milling.
- For this scribe, only spend 60 skill points on “Pursuit of Perfection” and “Improved Milling”.
- Second Scribe
- Assign to Inking.
- Spend 30 skill points on “Pursuit of Perfection” and 30 on “Improved Inks”. And Spend 120 skill points on all specializations listed under “Pursuit of Knowledge”.
- Third Scribe
- Assign to Reagents.
- Spend 60 skill points on “Pursuit of Perfection” and “Improved Ciphers”. And then max out “Pursuit of Knowledge” by spending 120 skill points.
Jewelcrafting
There are two methods which you can use with the Jewelcrafting profession to make a good amount of gold. The first method is Crushing and Prospecting. For Crushing, you will be focusing on the Resourcefulness and Ingenuity stats. While for Prospecting, you only need to focus on Resourcefulness.
The second method relies on getting your skills up to make level 2 quality gems and then later using Concentration to get them to level 3 quality. When players start crafting epic gear somewhere around week 2 or 3, they will need level 3 quality gems. And you can take advantage of this demand and make a lot of gold.
