41 articlesThe Tumbaga Ingot is one of the rarer materials in Windrose. A lot of players hit a wall when they first need one. It is an ancient alloy of copper and gold used specifically for enhancing your weapons, which adds a new perk on top of whatever the weapon already does.
If you want to push your gear further than a standard upgrade allows, this is the material you need. The catch is that Tumbaga Ingots are not something you craft or buy.
This guide covers exactly where to look, so you are not wandering every island hoping to stumble across one.
How to Get Tumbaga Ingot in Windrose
Tumbaga Ingots are mainly found inside Ancient Chests located within Ruins scattered across the islands. They are most commonly found in the Foothills biome, so that is where you want to focus your search.

Windrose: Ancient Fire Sanctuary Puzzle Solution & All ChestsApr 20, 2026Unfortunately, I can’t give you an exact location because every player’s world is procedurally generated, and your islands will be laid out differently from mine. What I can tell you is that sailing around the Foothills region and exploring the various points of interest you come across is the most reliable approach.
Some of those points of interest will turn out to be Ruins. Similar to the ones that I have marked on the image below.
Once you find a set of Ruins, look for a cellar entrance or a rope that leads underground. Explore them thoroughly, especially in the underground sections, and you will come across a couple of chests inside.
These chests have a chance to contain a Tumbaga Ingot. The more ruins you clear, the faster you will accumulate them.
That said, a lot of players also confirmed additional sources for the Tumbaga Ingot other than the standard ruins.
For example, quests like Eyes Wide with Fear will provide you with some Tumbaga Ingots as a reward. You can also obtain them from Blackbeard Treasure Map chests in the late-game.
Of course, ruin farming is still the fastest method early on, but once you reach the late-game, treasure maps are the better option.
Final Thoughts
Once you have a Tumbaga Ingot in hand, you can use it in two ways. You can head to the Weaponsmith Station to ascend your best weapons, or use them to craft high-tier epic jewelry.
It’d be worthwhile to farm early if you have a weapon you plan to keep for a while. However, if you’re still experimenting with your builds, I’d recommend you store your Tumbaga Ingots until you can find a main weapon to use.
Either way, they are a valuable material in Windrose, so it is worth saving them for your strongest gear rather than spending them carelessly.
