41 articlesThe Ancient Fire Sanctuary is one of the many ruins you can come across in Windrose, and you’ll want to solve its puzzle and collect all Treasure Chests while you’re there.
When it comes to the puzzle, it’s actually fairly simple once you know what to do. It’s just that the game gives you little information to go on. As for the Treasure, there are 8 chests to collect in total.
In this guide, I’ll tell you how to solve the puzzle and collect all the loot in these ruins.
Starting the Ancient Fire Sanctuary Puzzle
First of all, you can find the Ancient Fire Sanctuary puzzle on a Foothills island. Its exact location is random, but you’re led to it as part of the “Needle in a Haystack” quest. So, you can use that to find it.

Now, your first goal here is to look for a Heavy Vase under one of the walkways, close to the center. Pick it up and place it on the nearby pressure plate.
Doing so will unlock a nearby door, allowing you to go underground into the ruins so that you can start the puzzle proper.
Return Sanctuary Firebowls to Their Proper Places
Now that you are underground inside the ruins, you have to look for 4 Firebowls hidden all over the area. Pick those up and return them to one of the small bronze Braziers in the center of the ruins. They look like the ones above.
You can get these Firebowls in any order you wish. I just recommend clearing out all of the nearby enemies before you start, though! To help you find the Firebowls with ease, follow the next video.
1) The first Firebowl is to your left as you enter the ruins. Jump to it using the nearby platforms and pillars, or build stairs to reach it.
2) The second Firebowl is already placed on a Brazier, close to the locked gate. Interact to light it.
3) For the third Firebowl, go back outside, taking the stairs opposite from the ones you used to enter the ruins. Cut the Thorn Bushes in front of you to reach the closest room to your right, where the Firebowl sits.
4) The final Firebowl is a bit more of a process than the previous ones:
- Go back outside, taking the same stairs you used for the third Firebowl. Cut through the Thorn Bushes to reach the furthest room to your right.
- Grab the Heavy Vase there and put it on the remaining pressure plate in the center of the ruins.
- This will open the central room at the highest point of the ruins. Go inside to find the Firebowl.
With all of the Firebowls in place and lit, the locked gate by the Braziers will open up. That’s the puzzle done! Go inside to claim your reward, which should be a set of Tumbaga Ingots.
All Ancient Fire Sanctuary Treasure Locations
Now that the main puzzle is done, it’s time to clean up the area by finding all of the remaining Treasures hidden around. You might’ve already seen and picked up some on your own while doing the puzzle!
Nonetheless, here’s a video showing all of their locations, which I’ll briefly explain in a second.
1) Go back to where you cut the Thorn Bushes for the final Firebowl. There is a pressure plate at the end of that hallway. Put a Heavy Vase on it and go into the opened gate to find a chest.
2) In the same room where the final Firebowl was, at the top central room of the ruins. It’s to your right as you go in.
3) Before the room for the final Firebowl, go into the dark room with the vines. Loot the skeleton there, which counts as a treasure.
4) Go outside of the ruins and you should spot a pirate camp. Open the chest there to tick off another treasure.
5) Under a tent behind the pirate camp.
6) Another treasure is at the very top of the ruins, above the room where we got our fourth Firebowl. It’s easiest to reach by building stairs to it, but you can also reach it from behind.
7) Go back to the ruins and face the central top room. Turn around and take a left to enter a room with Dilapidated Walls that you can break to reach the Treasure Chest.
With that, and the chest from the puzzle itself, you should now have collected all 8 Ancient Fire Sanctuary Treasures!
