Millstone Parts is one of those crafting items in Windrose that a lot of players get stuck on because the recipe simply does not show up in their Workbench no matter how much they look for it. That is because it is locked behind a progression gate rather than just being available from the start.

In this guide, I will show you how to unlock the recipe for Millstone Parts and the materials required for crafting it.

How to Unlock & Craft Millstone Parts

To unlock the Millstone Parts recipe, you first need to defeat Thomas Richards in the Coastal Jungle and make your way into the second region of the game, the Foothills.

Once you are in the Foothills, you need to get Corn which is one of the key discoveries of this region. To find it, keep an eye out for islands that have Ancient Farms or Ancient Villages on them. These are the spots where Corn tends to grow in abundance.

I have marked some examples of these locations in the image below so you know what to look for. Once you find one of these farms, simply walk around and pick up the Corn growing there.

When you pick up Corn for the first time, the recipe for Millstone Parts will unlock at your Workbench. You can craft 1 Millstone Parts for 15 Stones.

With the Millstone Parts in your inventory, you are ready to build the station itself. Open up build mode and you will find the Millstone available to place down. It costs 1 Millstone Parts and 15 Wood to construct and you need to place it under a roof.

That’s It!

That is all you need to get the Millstone up and running. The recipe hiding behind a Corn discovery in the Foothills is not exactly obvious. That is why so many players end up staring at an empty Workbench wondering what they are missing. Once it is built though it becomes one of the most useful stations at your base. Especially once you start needing a steady supply of Gunpowder for your ranged weapons.
