41 articlesEyes Wide with Fear is one of the side quests in Windrose that has a fair few players stuck. You find a diary fragment, add it to your journal, and then get pointed towards a location with very little explanation of what you are actually looking for when you get there.
In this guide I will show you exactly where the Madman’s Chest is and how to dig it up without wasting time wandering around pressing buttons on random patches of dirt.
Quest Guide on Eyes Wide With Fear
After you interact with the Decrepit Chest and grab the Provisions and Dairy Fragments from it, the game will give you a new quest marker on your map like the one shown in the image below.
Make your way to the quest marker on your map. When you are standing right on top of it, take out your shovel and start digging. After a few seconds of digging, you will uncover a chest that shows up as “An old chest“. Interact with it and then select the “Take the belongings” option. Once you do that, the quest will be marked as complete. Watch the video below if you run into any confusion along the way.
