If you want to max out the Prestige ranks for your weapons in John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando, it’s a good idea to just use a fast Weapon XP farm.

Due to how Weapon XP is handled in this game, you basically just need to get hundreds of kills. You don’t need to complete missions at all, and focusing on weaker mobs is even ideal!

In this quick guide, I’ll tell you of a method where you can farm Weapon XP extremely quickly and easily.

Setting Up and Basics

John Carpenter's Toxic Commando gameplay

As we’ve explained in our guide on how Weapon XP works, you get 20 XP per kill. This isn’t affected by enemy types or difficulty, so just killing basic roamers will get you 20 XP a pop.

Additionally, there is currently a Weapon XP cap of 3000 XP for each weapon per mission. You can’t get more than 3000 XP on a single weapon per mission, but you can get 3000 XP on multiple weapons.

Keeping that in mind, this means that you’ll need a total of 150 kills to get 3000 XP on your weapon.

With that out of the way, it’s also important to know that this is purely a Weapon XP farm. You will not be getting any notable Class XP gains, if any.

As such, I highly recommend playing a Class you’ve already leveled up. Ideally, you want The Strike or The Operator for their ammo and reload perks.

The Method

For this Weapon XP farm, you’ll want to play The Drop on Story difficulty as a Private Game. Your setup should look something like the one shown above, for reference.

As soon as the mission starts, you just need to progress as normal at first. Get gas for the vehicle, use the winch to pull the gates, and then follow the path.

Eventually, you’ll reach a part of the path that is closed off by barbed wire. What you want to do here is to park the vehicle next to the barbed wire on the left side.

Then, just jump onto the roof of the vehicle and start shooting at the sludge zombies. The process should look something like the example video below.

Since you’re on Story difficulty, the enemies will die pretty much instantly, even from chest shots. Plus, they spawn infinitely, which is quite convenient!

At this point, you just need to stay on top of the vehicle and keep firing the primary and secondary weapons you want to level up. Use up all of your ammo and you’ll most likely reach the 3000 XP cap, or close to it.

Once you run out of ammo, you can just quit out of the mission. You’ll keep your Weapon XP, and it’s way faster than actually beating the mission!

Alternatively, though, you can just continue down the road a bit. Eventually, you’ll reach a section with crates that have weapons.

If you want, you can pick those weapons up and return to the barbed wire spot. Unload those guns too to level them up alongside the primary and secondary you brought into the mission. The video below shows where to find those weapons.

Either way, once you’re done, you just need to quit the mission by selecting Back to Base from the pause menu. Let the game tally up your XP and you’re all done. Rinse and repeat as much as you want!

Wrapping Up

So, in short, the Weapon XP farm for fast Prestige in John Carpenter’s Toxic Command is surprisingly simple. At least, in the current version of the game, but I hope it doesn’t get patched out!

All you need to do is play a bit of the game’s tutorial mission, The Drop. Get to the barbed wire area, farm the infinitely-spawning roamers as much as you want, and return to base. Extremely easy, but also extremely efficient.

Aside from your weapons, you should also think about which Class to play. If you’re indecisive on that front, check out our tier list ranking the Toxic Commando classes!
