7 articlesThe Grappling Hook is one of the first items you can get early on in the game. This allows you to reach locations that you normally won’t be able to access via running or climbing platforms. Not only that, but it also grants you access to several shortcuts which can be pretty handy in various situations.
If you don’t know how to find it or have no idea it even existed in the first place, then this guide is for you.
Where to Find the Grappling Hook in Salt and Sacrifice
To get the Grappling Hook, you’ll want to head over to Ashbourne Village and make your way to the Root-Ceil Cavern. From there, drop all the way down and head to the right until you reach the Greymoss Mire. Just a short distance from the nearby Obelisk, you will encounter your first ever boss fight which is against Uryks Necklace-of-Ears.

After defeating Uryks Necklace-of-Ears, follow the path all the way right until you come across a cave entrance. Enter the cave, and inside, go all the way down until you come across a corpse of a dead Inquisitor. Simply interact with the corpse, and it should give you the Grappling Hook.
How to Use the Grappling Hook
You’ll be able to use the Grappling Hook immediately after obtaining it. Just behind the corpse, you’ll see some branches with a glowing section that you can grapple into.
To use the tool, simply jump (X button) and then press R2 while airborne to grapple. This should be done while a white circle on the glowing section is present, otherwise, you won’t be able to grapple at all.
