Rumbleverse is now officially out, and the long awaiting battle-royale style open-world Brawler beat-em-up is here! In Rumbleverse, players will fight each other to the death using wrestling-style moves and maneuvers, hoping to be the last one standing.

Developed by Iron Galaxy studio, and published by legendary Epic Games, Rumbleverse is currently being released for Windows – along with PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Totally free-to-play (although there are components of the game you can pay for), there are no official ‘builds,’ so it may be a little confusing as to how to navigate playing a certain style of character. In the game, there are no traditional ‘weapons,’ but rather you’ll be using a formation of punches, kicks, wrestling moves, and slams.

We’re here to present to you the ultimate beginner’s guide to Rumbleverse – new to the game? Confused about “Special Moves,” or what a chicken is for? Well, this is the guide for you.

The Ultimate Beginner’s Guide to Rumbleverse: Stats, Perks, and Items

Health, Stamina, and Strength are key stats in the game – along with “Protein Pods.” It’s important to pay special mind to these, and keep an eye on them as you play and before you begin.

  • You can use Protein Pods to upgrade Health and Stamina.
  • With a higher Strength, you can do more damage, in addition to attacking more frequently.
  • With a higher Health, you have a much better chance of surviving for longer as you max out HP.
  • With a higher Stamina, you can run, dodge, and climb buildings much more effectively (and faster).

Protein Pods and Items

Protein Pods and other items found around Grappital City (your battleground) can refill your Health, Stamina, and your Strength.

Chickens” (yes, you read that right) are used for refilling Health.

Energy Drinks” are used for increasing your Stamina (limited time period).

Weapons” can help provide extra damage dealt to opponents.

Protein Pods themselves are a ‘special’ item found in crates surrounding the map – these are indicated as “Arms Powder,” “Core Powder,” and “Legs Powder.”

Arms Powder” increased the damage you deal to others.

Core Powder” increases max health.

Legs Powder” increases your Stamina.

The bottom right corner of the screen provides a status meter for all the pods you consume in-game – only 10 pods can be consumed per the game you’re in, so you’ll have to select them with this in mind. For every ‘bar’ (you’ll notice this in the bottom right corner), your respective boost increases by 10%. For example, if you consume 5 Protein Pods of the same type, you get a 20% total increase.

Perk Meter and Super Meter

The ‘Perk’ Meter is another important thing to pay close attention to in-game. This is found above the ‘Stats’ meter in the bottom right corner of the game screen – it starts out at 0 of 500, and increases as you damage opponents in-game. This is important. One ‘hitpoint’ to an opponent is equal to one perk meter point.

After completely filling up the Perk Meter, you’ll get a randomized perk and the whole meter will reset back to 0. The meter than increases in the amount required to reach the next full meter – from 500 to 750, 1000, and so on. It is vital to ensure you’re actively attacking opponents earlier on in the game so you can build your perks quickly.

These perks are entirely randomly generated as to what you get, so you’ll have to make the most use out of whichever perk you are given.

The ‘Super Meter’ is a light blue bar with a star that is above your Health and Stamina meters. Like the Perk Meter, the damage you deal out to enemies will build up your Super Meter. You can also collect blue stars in-game.

Once the Super Meter is filled up completely, you can activate ‘Super Mode.’ This enables you to do a ‘super attack,’ which will deal a significant amount of damage to the opponent and others nearby. This attack also cannot be blocked. You can also do a super revive if you get knocked out once the super meter is full – back to 30% of your health. You get a speed and stamina boost in addition to all of this when you enter this “Superstar Mode.”

Special Moves

Special moves are absolutely essential – you’ll find these in loot crates surrounding the map, and are the main sort of “weapons” you’ll be using. They’re not actually weapons, but rather sort of special move books that enable you to learn special abilities that offer way more in terms of attack power and combo potential.

These moves deplete your Stamina, so you cannot continually use them, but you should always keep an eye out for these as they offer some much-needed leverage against opponents.

Special Notes

  • The inventory system in Rumbleverse allows you to ‘save’ items for later; you can pick up things like chicken or energy drinks and hold these items in your hand once picked up. However, assigning this to your inventory can store it for later use, where you can then either use it (as in the case for energy drinks or chicken) or ‘equip’ it (in the case of bats, or chairs) by pressing the same corresponding button later.
  • The map of Rumbleverse will begin to narrow in on players as the game progresses, forcing them to fight rather than hiding out on the outskirts of the map. However, rather than being debuffed by this, it prompts a countdown (starting from 10) to enter back into the ring. If you’re not back inside the ring in 10 seconds, you will be eliminated from the match. However, it won’t automatically reset back to 10 every time – which is important to keep in mind if you’re trying to flee from a fight to heal.
