Remnant 2: How to Get Repair Tool Weapon & Latent Heart Relic | The Dark Horizon

For this guide, I’ll be focusing on two key items that can significantly enhance your gameplay in Remnant 2’s Dark Horizon DLC: the Repair Tool and the Latent Heart Relic. With these powerful tools at your disposal, you’ll be well-equipped with a Weapon centered on support or summoning, and a Relic that absorbs damage. I’ll provide you with everything you’ll need to explore the locations, strategies, and tips you need to successfully obtain the items.

How to Get Repair Tool Weapon & Latent Heart Relic | The Dark Horizon

To obtain the Repair Tool & Latent Heart, you’ll need to go into the N’Erud The Dark Horizon DLC Overworld during an adventure. This isn’t a one-shot item; instead, it will be randomized.

You’ll specifically require two Memory Cores from the Dormant N’Erudian Facility, along with the Terminus Station. These Memory Cores are similar to those found beneath the Custodian in previous N’Erud adventures, but they’re located at the beginning of this Overworld.

Once you have both Memory Cores (Memory Core II or Decorum Cipher), you can unlock the two gates—provided that they’ve rolled in your favor. With both cores in hand, you’ll finally be able to acquire the Repair Tool and the Latent Heart!

Detailed Walkthrough (with Images & Videos)

First, head to the Quiescent Overlook, which is where the large crystal is located. This is useful for placing pins later on. As you can see in the current rolled adventure shown in the image below, two pins are missing, indicating it’s required to locate the dungeons that contain them.

If you’re familiar with the Pulse Rifle puzzle beneath the Custodian in the other N’Erud story, you’ll have an idea of where these pins are located.

You’ll encounter two barriers that need to be cleared to claim both rewards. The two dungeons you’ll want to explore are the Dormant N’Erudian Facility and the Terminus Station.

Since these are base game dungeons, your Dark Horizon one-shot will not have any missing pins, as it features all-new dungeons. That said, you’ll have to check on the Overlook and reroll until you get them.

Finding The Pins Location

First up, let’s locate the pin in the Dormant N’Erudian Facility. Follow the path I’m showing here; I’m guiding you along the necessary route to reach the top and cross the bridge into the room where you can obtain the Biome Control Glyph!

Once you’ve got the Glyph, head back to the beginning of the dungeon and use it to unlock the door, where you’ll find one of the pins you need — the Memory Core II.

Next, you’re off to the Terminus Station. This is the moving train segment where you’ll need to fend off waves of enemies. After defeating them, the train will come to a stop, and the door will open. From here, follow this path to reach the top of the train.

Pass the checkpoint on the right, crouch under the obstacles, and climb the ladder to reach the edge. You’ll need to jump off onto the top of the train car, then drop down inside. Here, you’ll find the Atam Splitter and, importantly, the pin — the Decorum Cipher.

Using The Pins to get the Repair Tool & Latent Heart

Now that you have both pins, head back to the table to insert them and claim your rewards. Placing the first pin will grant you the Repair Tool, but we need to put in the second pin to unlock the Latent Heart. You can do these one at a time or insert both at once, depending on how quickly you found the dungeons.

Repair Tool & Latent Heart Overview

• The Latent Heart is a powerful Relic that absorbs 95% of incoming damage for a duration of 5 seconds. Once this effect expires, the absorbed damage is transferred to the wearer at a rate of 10% of the total absorbed damage per second for an additional 10 seconds.
  • Keep in mind that this damage reduction does not apply to shields, making it an excellent choice for players who focus on lifesteal or health regeneration builds. It allows you to sustain small amounts of damage over time without being overwhelmed.

• Now, up next, the Repair Tool. This unique handgun fires a stream of nanomachines, inflicting damage on enemies while simultaneously healing allies for 3% of their maximum health per second.
  • You can likely enhance this healing effect with increased healing effectiveness. Additionally, the nanotech restores Nudian energy to turrets and drones, enabling you to heal your teammates and recharge your summons, allowing them to effectively fire, heal, or shield.
  • This weapon is incredibly valuable for builds centered on support or summoning.
