The Monorail is one of the most unique and rarest new weapons in Remnant 2: The Dark Horizon, requiring you to beat the final boss of the DLC in a specific way.
Similar to every other world boss, the DLC’s final boss has two different ways to kill it. The standard and expected one will get you the Dark Matter Gauntlets melee weapon. The more obtuse kill method, on the other hand, will get you the unique Monorail rifle instead.
In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know to get the Monorail in The Dark Horizon DLC for Remnant 2!
How to Get Monorail Weapon | The Dark Horizon
One of your main tasks in The Dark Horizon is to destroy fragments to weaken Alepsis-Taura, the final boss of the DLC. To do so, you will have to follow pillars of light and complete optional dungeons. However, to get the Monorail weapon, you’ll simply need to ignore these pillars of light.
That’s right, you’ll need to simply ignore everything and rush straight to confront Alepsis-Taura in The Convergence area of N’erud!
While it might sound daunting to face Alepsis-Taura without weakening it first, the boss doesn’t actually behave differently if you ignore the fragments. The only difference is that it will deal more damage and take less damage from your attacks. It can end up being a battle of attrition, so you’ll need to play very carefully to avoid making mistakes.
Manage to defeat Alepsis-Taura like this, however, and you’ll get the Eternity Chamber crafting material. You’ll also get the new Insight Trait, which you can level up to increase your Mod Regen rate.
Now, just like every other boss weapon in Remnant 2, you need to return to McCabe in Ward 13. She’ll now have the Monorail as one of her craftable items, requiring the following:
1 Eternity Chamber
7 Lumenite Crystals
1000 Scrap
The Monorail is a charge-shot gun which gets increased damage and Critical Hit Chance the longer you hold the trigger before releasing. However, do be careful! Charging the Monorail’s shots for too long will create a singularity, instantly killing you no matter how much health you have left.
